We met on the dating app Bumble. Our first date was at the Red Rabbit on Grand Ave in St. Paul. We talked and laughed for hours. I didn't want the date to end. Mark texted that night about how he had a great time and was looking forward to a second date. I was elated and couldn't wait to see him again! Every month that we dated, we toasted to our monthly anniversary and sipped sparkling wine. We still continue this tradition. It's the little things you have to celebrate and appreciate in life. Over the years, we have enjoyed traveling together to warm beach destinations as well as going up to the North Shore to go hiking, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Mark and I have also enjoyed going on walks, bike rides, and boating on Lake Minnetonka and The St. Croix River. Most importantly, we have treasured creating wonderful memories with our family and friends. This is Mark. I also wanted to add a little to this. I too had a great time on the first date. It seemed like we knew each other forever. I knew right away I wanted a second date with Molly. After we left the restaurant, I went to a gathering of friends for a birthday party. Of course, I got grilled on how the date went. They all told me I should have brought her with so they can meet her, but since it was a first date I decided not to. My friends eventually met Molly and realized what a great catch I had found.
We were on an annual trip with our friends at a cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin. Mark and I went for a hike in the morning. We were almost done with the hike and were enjoying the beautiful scenery of the lake. Mark got down on one knee and proposed. I joyfully said yes! We immediately started Facetiming our family and friends. When we got back to the cabin, we shared our exciting news with our friends that were up there with us. We went out paddle boarding and then went on a pontoon ride with everyone. We enjoyed toasting with them and watching the sunset on the boat. This is Mark again and I want to add in a side note to this. When I purchased the ring, it came in this huge box. That morning, I had to think of where I was going to hide the ring on our hike. Fortunately, I packed a new sweatshirt that has a huge pocket in the front so I could keep one hand on it at all times for a few miles! And of course after all of the excitement and Molly accepting my proposal, I was happy she said yes and even happier she loved the ring! We are thrilled to have our wedding ceremony and reception at The Hotel Landing in Wayzata, MN as that was where we went for our first staycation in 2020. We are so excited and hope to be toasting and raising a glass with all of you! Hope you can join in the festivities! Cheers!
