Flight
Flying into SeaTac and taking the lightrail from the airport to the Stadium or Pioneer Square Station stop would be the easiest option for guests who are staying downtown. The lightrail is easy to use and you are able to book a prepaid pass right at the station. If staying at Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square and want to lightrail from SeaTac, the Pioneer Square Station stop is a 3min walk away.
Train
We think the Lightrail would be the easiest option for those traveling into SeaTac and staying downtown!
House Or Rental
Anywhere you stay will be great but if you're looking for specifics some of our favorite neighborhoods are Fremont, Wallingford, Queen Anne, Belltown.
A classic touristy activity. You can watch vendors throw fish (no we don't know how this became a thing), peruse random trinkets or have our favorite New England Clam chowder from Pike Place Chowder. Fun fact, we once saw the worst improv comedy show of all time at Unexpected Productions and can't recommend it enough.
This is where Sarah finally convinced Andrew that sometimes nice meals are worth it. Fantastic views of Seattle and amazing, albeit pricey, seafood.
Our stomping grounds for two years. Enjoy a show at Tractor Tavern, drinks at Hazlewood or see if you can haggle prices at Ballard Consignment like Sarah. Yes, she got us 100 dollars off a chair once and will never let anyone forget it. For food we can't recommend San Fermo enough. Their menu changes with the seasons but is always delicious.
This is Andrew's favorite neighborhood in Seattle. Highlights include our first date spot at Barrel Thief wine and whiskey bar, 19 Gold for some great Taiwanese food, O'Donnells for Irish pub food or Kin Len Thai Night Bites if you can get a seat (we liked it before it was cool). If you're not in the mood to eat or drink try meandering along the Burke Gilman bike trail. Or, better yet, see if you can find the Fremont Troll, the Berlin Wall and the Lenin statue.
The Washington State Ferry system is the largest in the United States. We highly recommend taking a trip to Bainbridge Island from the Seattle ferry terminal if you have the time, the views alone are worth it.
Right down the street from our welcome party, be sure to stop by and check out the sunset.
We suck at golf. This is a great place to go if you suck at golf. Peep the nearby lake afterwords.
Boring name. Cool museum.
