Welcome Party

7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Marination Ma Kai
1660 Harbor Ave Sw, Seattle, WA 98126

Casual Attire: Anything goes, from sundresses and sandals to jeans and tees.

We highly encourage guest to take the water taxi from downtown Seattle (Pier 50) directly to the welcome event. The water taxi boards every 30 minutes and has some of the best views of the city. The commute is short (~10 mins). Make sure to check the ferry schedule to plan accordingly. Uber/lyft are also available. Water taxi schedule is available here: https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/travel-options/water-taxi/west-seattle There will be light bites in addition to drinks for purchase.

Travel & Lodging

The Wedding Website of Sarah Hemmer and Jason Nurmi
Our best travel & lodging recommendations for Seattle, WA... We encourage guests to book lodging ASAP as June is a peak travel month in the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, FIFA will be in Seattle in June/July 2025 (dates TBD) which may impact hotel availability.

Flight

SeaTac Airport (SEA)

For those flying, SeaTac (SEA) is the closest airport and is ~20 minutes from downtown by car.

Travel Note

Airbnb/VRBO

If you're interested in sharing a space with other wedding guests, we recommend booking an Airbnb in the Queen Anne neighborhood! The proximity is close to the Olympic Sculpture Park (our wedding venue) and is quite charming! On the contrary, we recommend NOT booking an Airbnb/VRBO in the Fremont neighborhood as it hosts an annual "summer solstice" bike ride on the same day as the wedding. Getting in/out of Fremont on the 21st will be very difficult.

Hotel

Seattle Marriott Waterfront

2100 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA

We recommend this hotel to stay as it is walking distance from our wedding venue (the Olympic Sculpture Park)! Unfortunately this hotel does not allow for wedding room blocks, but it is an ideal place to stay.

Hotel

Ace Hotel Seattle

2423 1st Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121

As an eclectic recommendation in the heart of Belletown, the Ace Seattle is walking distance to the wedding venue! Tons of bars & restaurants are nearby this hotel.

Hotel

The Edgewater Hotel

2411 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98121

This hotel is quite the splurge ($$$), but is an iconic Seattle landmark that is right on the water. It is walking distance from the wedding venue (Olympic Sculpture Park). PS - the Beatles once stayed here!

PNW Things To Do

Details coming soon with our recommendations of PNW sights to see!

Staying local in Seattle...

If staying local is your preference, we recommend the following sites in/around Seattle! Our favorite restaurants: Pink Door!!!! The Pink Door is a classic downtown Seattle restaurant. Even if they have a long wait, we recommend it! Put your name on the waitlist and grab a drink nearby while you wait. Homer in the Beacon Hill Neighborhood is amazing, Harry's in Capitol Hill is a classic spot, Spinasse (might be hard to get in, but it's amazing italian food!), and the Metropolitan Grill (fancier steakhouse if you're looking to splurge). Other fun attractions: Pike Place Market is an iconic tourist spot, The Space Needle, Chihuly Glass exhibit, Seattle Art Museum, Gum Wall (some may think this is gross), a Seattle "underground tour", and/or a comedy show.

Ferry to Bainbridge

Bainbridge, WA

Have a day to play tourist in Seattle? We recommend taking the ferry to Bainbridge island. You don't need a car! Just walk on the ferry, commute 30 minutes, and then arrive in Bainbridge. The island hosts many wine tasting rooms (Eleven Winery) and some delish restaurants (Bruciato, Doc's Marina and Seabird to name a few). Top it off with some ice cream at Mora and then catch the ferry back to Seattle.

Woodinville

Woodinville, WA

Love wine? So do we. Woodinville is home to 200+ wine tasting rooms and is only 30 minutes from Seattle! Make a reservation for a tasting at Chateau St. Michelle (they also have concerts here!), Andrea Nicole Cellars (ANC), Airfield. Not far from those wineries is another cluster that we recommend including Long Shadow and DeLille. You can't go wrong with lunch at Pablo y Pablo, Hollywood Tavern, or Vivi Pizzeria. Some of these wineries accept walk-ins, but reservations at some of them are encouraged!

Leavenworth

Leavenworth, WA

WE LOVE LEAVENWORTH! It's a Bavarian themed town ~2 hours from Seattle. It's nestled in the mountains and looks like it's straight out of a Hallmark movie. Check out München House, Icicle Brewery, Das Sweet Shoppe (get the huckleberry cheesecake ice cream), and maybe even try out the Alpine Coaster!

San Juan Island

WA

The San Juan Islands are the best kept secret of Washington... they are stunning and magical. Traveling to the San Juan islands is a full 2-3 day commitment, but IT IS WORTH IT. Take the ferry to Friday Harbor (don't forget to make a ferry reservation) and then explore the island! We recommend Westcott Bay Shellfish as the #1 place to visit. You'll be able to eat oysters and sip rose, all while overlooking the bay where the oysters are farmed! It's incredible. Also, be sure to check out the lavender farm, the alpaca farm, and Downriggers for a beverage.

Black-Tie Optional: Tuxes and gowns are preferred, but not required. Suits and cocktail dresses are great options as well! Colors, florals, and patterns are highly encouraged.

Answer

Parking is limited. We highly encourage our guests to uber/lyft or walk to the venue, if possible. Paid parking is available in the PACCAR Pavilion garage.
