There are no trains to Mafra, meaning you will either have to take an Uber/taxi, rent a car, or take a bus. All are viable options but I'd say your best bet is an uber/taxi or renting a car. An uber or taxi ride from the Lisbon airport to Machados should take about 30 minutes and cost 20-40 Euros. Lauren and her mom rented a car on their most recent trip to Lisbon to get from the city to Quinta dos Machados- it was very reasonable and such an easy trip! ** While you cannot get to the venue by train, Portugal does have a wonderful train system. You can easily get from city to city on the train if you plan on traveling around Portugal before or after the wedding. We have plenty of recs for the surrounding Lisbon area, Porto & the Algarve! **

Quinta dos Machados Countryside Hotel & Spa

We have the entire Quinta booked for all our guests so all of you are already assigned rooms that you will just pay for at checkout! Check in is around 3-4 but they Quinta did say that early check-in is possible. Lauren and Sam will already have their room so anyone can feel free to store their bags in our room or at the front desk until their room is ready. There is also a full locker room by the Spa where you can freshen up or change into your swimsuits. If you do want to book a spa appointment- you can do so by checking the menu on the Quinta's website and emailing the front desk.

For those guests not able to stay on-site at Quinta dos Machados. We recommend Vila Galé in Ericeira. This is a hotel right on the ocean's edge in the gorgeous fishing village of Ericeira (Sam and Lauren's favorite town). LX Boutique Hotel

This is where Sam and I will be staying while in Lisbon prior to heading to Quinta dos Machados for the wedding. This is right in the heart of Lisbon and also at the bottom of a hill (very prime). It is in the Bairro Alto neighborhood which is close to all the best things. The Time Out Market where we will be meeting for our happy hour hang is right around the corner.
