Update: In light of COVID-19, we wanted to check in and let you know your health and safety are our top priority. We’re still figuring things out and will keep you posted about any changes to our wedding. Thank you for your patience!
Aria had retired from the military. Jeff, concerned with how to address her, approached her, reached out and touched her arm and asked her how should he address her now that she was no longer in uniform. Aria replied “you can call me whatever you want as long as you keep touching my arm that way.”
Early on as they were getting to know each other better, Aria had told Jeff that when the time came, she still wanted to be surprised about being proposed to. As time passed the talk of joining their lives increased. It increased to where plans were being made but a proposal hadn't happened yet. Both Aria and Jeff knew they were going to marry each other and had started planning how to blend their lives together. But yet still no proposal. Now, how do you surprise someone, when they know its coming? No longer is there going to be a surprise if a proposal was coming, but still, Jeff wanted to surprise her. As Jeff looked for the best time to propose, it hit him she had a dance performance coming up. This would provide the best chance for her to be focused on all the other things and he might just be able to pull it of. He did realize though, he was going to need help. This is where Jeff enlisted Aria's dance instructor and good friend Ashley Gill. Jeff and Ashley messaged to coordinate the best surprise we could for Aria. The concept, we would wait until after her group performed. The group would form up as if they were walking off, but not do so and crowd Aria to the center of the floor. This is where the DJ comes in, he would play our song (How would you feel, Ed Sheeran). It was a brilliant success. Aria, was completely taken. She was confused as she attempted to walk off after performing. Her friend Ashley turned her right around. As she did, Aria could hear the music. It hit her what was happening. It all happened quickly, the crowd loved the emotion and the surprise of it all. Aria, was truly surprised and loved the surprise. You can see the proposal video here too.
