Kenny's iconic proposal line, "Do you wanna?" perfectly delivered on a rainy day in Kyoto. Emily's response was a very fitting, "Yeah!"
Once upon a time in a small private Christian school in the greater Philadelphia area, two awkward kids became aware of each other. They didn't interact much until middle school when their mutual interests in band, choir, and theater forced them to spend time together in the same environments. To Emily, Kenny was the annoying kid in band who would regularly halt practice to complain about his saxophone being broken, despite it having been fixed multiple times. To Kenny, Emily was the tall, incredibly talented friend of a friend; a peer whose passion for music and nerd culture was both aspirational and attractive. By the end of middle school, they were friendly acquaintances and had many mutual friends. Once high school came around, their mutual love of music and theater continued to bring them closer together, and they eventually became very close friends who spent a lot of time together. To Emily, Kenny was no longer the annoying band kid, but rather a dear friend she knew she could trust with anything. He made her laugh, boosted her ego, and helped her feel safe in turbulent times. To Kenny, Emily was his closest confidante--someone in whom he found a mutual desire to know and to be known. Someone he could bring his most authentic self and be understood, in return having the privilege to know her. After some time, and much to the surprise of no one but them, one thing led to another (as it often does) and they cautiously stepped into what would become the 7+ year old relationship they continue to have today!

We like to do things our own way! With neither of us feeling very strongly about our last names, and with Rittenhouse-Graham being far too lengthy, we decided to smush our names together into something new. Graham + Rittenhouse = Grouse. Yes, like the bird.
The best fitting dress code for our wedding vibe would be “cocktail.” Feel free to wear what’s comfortable, though! Anything from “dressy casual” to formal would be appropriate.
Yes! Please include the full name of your plus one when returning your RSVP. If RSVPing online, please let one of us know the full name of your plus one.
All nearby public parking is free! While there isn’t much parking directly by The Loft, there are a few nearby lots and areas for street parking. For those with mobility issues, there is a small lot that can hold about 12 cars around the back of the building. Please prioritize that lot for those who may need it. For others, we recommend parking in the lot at the intersection of E Gay St and N Mason St - in front of the Rockingham County Parks & Rec building. There is also a small public lot next to the Christ Presbyterian Church on N Liberty Street. If all else fails, there is a parking deck with plenty of space at the intersection of Elizabeth St and N Mason St.
Yes! The small parking lot around the back of the building is floor-level with the building’s elevators. The main entrance has a small staircase up from the sidewalk, but inside there are elevators and bathrooms on each floor.
Great place to check out on a Saturday morning!
Our favorite local hike! Great exercise with a beautiful 360 degree view of the Shenandoah Valley and into West Virginia. 2.6 mile medium difficulty out-and-back (steep inclines!)
