After being together for 18 years, 7 months, and 5 days, we are finally saying our vows in an intimate private ceremony with our two sons as our witnesses. We regret not celebrating with our dear families and friends. We love you all and hope you find it in your hearts to understand. There is nothing more important to us than family and friends who became family. As this new chapter begins, we want to say thank you for your unwavering love and support throughout the years. For every thoughtful thing you've done and for standing beside us in so many ways, we are blessed ten times over for the relationships we have forged. We love you.

Who best understands us without reservations and expectations. You are the reason we survived some of our most challenging moments. Thank you to our chosen family for walking with us in our life journey and writing a sweeter story for us. We cherish you and we love you.
To the family members who supported us without hesitation since the beginning, and to the family members who were fiercely protective of their own kin in the beginning. We appreciate the way you showed us love and loyalty. Family is love, family is tough and family is forever.
Boy, you've accepted me since the beginning; it was always the three of us before Coltin, and we wouldn't have made it without your love for me. I will always have your back, and I will always give you what you need. Your mom is my most special person, and I will protect and love her until forever passes.
Mom, Pa, I am humbled by your love, support, and sacrifices. Your patience has saved me more than I can count. Your unwillingness to give up on me showed me I am unconditionally Loved. When I needed help and no one else could come, you never failed to answer the call. I am so blessed you are my parents because I know when I look for you, a hand reaches for me. My heart is good because of you. Thank you for never giving up on me.
I will love and protect your daughter for the rest of my life, and after. I will be the rock that supports my family through the good and bad times. Thank you for doing your best to raise my wonderful wife-to-be. You have instilled loyalty, kindness, honesty, and love in Gladis. I am eternally grateful to you.
Sister and brother, when the world was not ready for us, you supported us without hesitation. You welcomed us into your first home and let us celebrate with you. We will never forget it. What good times we had and memories we will carry with us forever. We miss those days, but we are so glad we have them. If one day, there comes a time you will need us, we will want to return the love you showed for us. Your union has a balance of fun, love, respect, support, adventure, and hard work. We admire and look up to both of you. Thank you for always welcoming us with open arms. We love you guys.
Mama and Papa, thank you for raising Dennis to be so kind, patient, and strong. I Love him because of all these traits that were instilled in him. Like Dennis's love, your love for him is fierce. I want you to know that I understand the love and protection you have for him and I will love Dennis, protect him, stand by his side, and weather the storms with him. No one has shared with me the Love Dennis has given me and I will fight to keep it safe. Thank you for your support all these years, my heart will remember always.
Mom, you have always had my back regardless of fault, no matter how small or ambitious my dreams were, you have always supported me. I have felt your unconditional love throughout all of my life. The same love you have shown me is the love Gladis gives to our two boys every single day. I will Love Gladis forever through it all, and I see your love for me in her. Thank you for loving me, and raising me the way you did. Pops, you've shown me what it means to sacrifice for family. I appreciate the tough love you have given me even more now than ever. Your teachings become clearer as I raise Coltin to become a good man. Thank you for showing me what it takes to be a patient husband and a loving father.
Dearest sister, thank you for the love and support you have shown to my family and me. You have always been your brother's keeper. Despite my stubborn ways, you have always protected me, and I will always love you for that. You are the rope that leads me back to the Diaz/Avera Ohana. Your love for Cody and Coltin warms my heart and your love and support for my wife-to-be will always be appreciated.

Gladis did not want Cody to be the only one with a different last name.
Heald College in English Class Gladis: "Dennis made me nervous when sharing my research in front of the class. Dennis sat directly in front of me and stared at me the whole time. I bombed my presentation hahaha!" Dennis: "I first laid eyes on her at the smoker's lounge at Heald, and she was looking gorgeous in her business skirt and jacket. Of course, she didn't see me because she was too cool and graceful."
Gladis and Dennis's first encounter: Gladis: "I was coming back from the bathroom outside of English class, and Dennis was going to the bathroom. I smiled at Dennis as we passed each other, and Dennis made a funny face at me! Dennis was weird, but it made me smile."
Dennis: "Technically...it was Gladis, she emailed my student email after she got wind that I thought she was the most beautiful girl in school. She did this right before winter break and naturally (being the outstanding student that I was) I didn't open my email until we got back to campus. To this day, I vividly remember my excitement to see her message. She left her phone number, we talked until the sun came up, I took her out that same morning, and it was the first day of the rest of my life with her."
Gladis: "When Cody seamlessly fell in Love with Dennis and named him Uncle DonDon as a joke. The name stuck, and Dennis is now known as uncle DonDon." Dennis: "When she wanted to be with me despite how much harder I made her life, not to get into too much detail, but there was a time when I was not half the man I am today. Yet she stood by me, she believed in me, and she gave me the support I needed."
Coltin Diaz was born on November 4th, 2013. He was perfect and our hearts grew twice as large that day. Coltin has filled our days with unconditional love and united our families. He is our very special blessing.
