The first memory Megan had of Gabe was seeing him in a play called ‘The Epic Story’ in July of 2021, where he played the narrator of the show, the Janitor. Meg thought he was cute and hilarious, but didn't actually get to meet him until February of 2022. Gabe and Meg both met each other through their dear friend Emily McLean. Emily was in a Bible study with Megan, and had introduced her to a dance company where they both taught dance together. Emily was also on staff with Gabe in their theatre group The Story Collective (the company that produced ‘The Epic Story’ in 2021). Emily had been scheming to set Meg up with some of her guy friends. Fortunately, those all fell through, until she invited Gabe and Meg with some other friends to a local coffee shop. Thankfully, the seat next to Meg was empty, Gabe slipped next to her, and they quickly started having fun and silly conversations together. Afterwards, Gabe got Meg's number and, in his words, "cut to the chase" to ask her on a date. The first date was at Chick-fil-a, where for the next three hours they talked about their backgrounds and interests. They quickly connected on hiking, their faith, and shared experiences with their own families. The second date was only three days later, at the Cincinnati Museum Center to see the Pixar exhibit. As Date #2 went along, Gabe and Meg each came up with ideas afterwards to keep it going, including getting burgers and going for a walk around Cincy’s Alms Park. Before they knew it, six hours had gone by! They quickly learned that there wasn't enough time in a day to spend with one another, and continued to spend more and more time together in the coming weeks. A few weeks later, after multiple dates and endless FaceTime calls, Gabe took Meg on a hike at Caesar Creek State Park on St. Patrick’s Day, where they hiked for 13 miles and made their relationship official. You could say that it was quite the “lucky” day! And the rest, as they say…..is history!
