Their story goes back a decade when Emily was a freshman and Josh was a senior in high school What started out as late night movies, go cart adventures & cool handshakes turned into a first love feeling that Emily couldn't quite shake. But with Josh beginning a new journey at college, the timing just wasn't quite right. The distance was tough & with so much uncertainty & no longer seeing each other every day, Emily built a wall; a wall so tall that even Josh couldn't climb when he realized that those late night movies, go cart adventures & cool handshakes was a first love feeling that he couldn't quite shake. Fast forward through years of birthday & holiday check ins, back & forth texts about sports & occasional run ins at the grocery store (Big Lots)...they found themselves on a hike during a time of what Emily thought was uncertainty & wall building. But instead of that wall being built higher, Josh effortlessly and whole heartedly scaled Emily's wall & what was their first love feeling became their last love feeling. It was as if they hadn't missed a beat & after a decade of friendship, they could finally admit to & fall into a love that everyone knew was meant to be. On March 21st, 2020 Emily entered Josh's home both figuratively & literally & never left. During these last 2 years they have moved across the country three times, shared countless moments of pure joy & laughter & have now committed to a lifetime together. If you still regret breaking up with your high school sweetheart — or mourn the fact that you never told the object of your affection how you really felt back then, take heart. A second chance like theirs may be in the cards
