Our story

First comes school, then comes marriage (insert COVID and residency in between)

We first met at a dental school party in 2018 as wide-eyed first-years, but barely said more than “hi.” A few months into the semester, on Delta Sigma Delta initiation night, blindfolded and lined up on old stone steps, we instantly hit it off (perhaps love truly is blind). Little did we know we'd actually become the best of friends. With the rigorous nature of dental school, we found company in each other (& our other dental friends dearest to us). We were inseparable: going to classes, picking up Starbucks and dinner, and getting right into study mode. Yes, this happened almost every day with the occasional nights out to blow some steam. After a year of laughter, tears, and good ole friendship, our love for each other as friends morphed into much more. Fall of 2019, it wasn't until our ride home from a J Balvin concert in Detroit when we had our deep conversations about happiness, purpose, and the meaning of life, and realized we cared for each other much more than friends. Two weeks later, we made it official, and as corny as it is, the rest is history. We won't reveal who fell for who first, so you'll have to wait and find out yourself! We are honored to have you as our guest and share our special day with you. Thank you for contributing your love and support to our story. With love, Esther & Brandon

Paebaek Ceremony & Welcome Cocktail Party

Chemung Hills Golf Club & Banquet Center
3125 Golf Club Rd, Howell, MI 48843

Dressy Casual

If you're arriving in town early, we’d love for you to join us the night before! The Korean Traditional Paebaek Tea Ceremony was originally a ritual in which the groom’s family formally welcomed the bride into their home, allowing her to show respect to her new relatives. Today, it is commonly performed as a meaningful tradition where the newlyweds honor both families and receive blessings for their marriage.

FAQs

Question

Where do we stay?

Answer

We have booked a number of hotel blocks both in Howell and Ann Arbor, see the hotel section for options. If you don't like what you see there are numerous options in the surrounding area.

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

We would love to see everyone in semi-formal but we understand we will be outside or in a tent for most of the wedding, so please plan accordingly. Ladies, wedges or thicker heals may be ideal. Gents, I would make sure you are able to take your jacket off.

Question

What is there to do in Howell?

Answer

Howell's Main Street has been rated one of the most beautiful in the United States! There are numerous shops and restaurants downtown. Be sure to check out Carriage House, M Street Baking Co, and Coratti's Pizzeria.

Question

How far is the venue?

Answer

If you are staying in Ann Arbor, the venue is about a thirty minute drive. If you are staying in Howell, only about five minutes.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love kids and we hope to have some of our own one day. Unfortunately, apart from the wedding party and immediate family, we want this to be an adult only event where "Mom and Dad" can let loose.

Question

Will the venue have parking?

Answer

Unfortunately not for the ceremony and reception, but there will be a shuttle bus to get everyone from a parking area to the venue itself. See "Parking-Shuttle Service" in the schedule for more information.

Question

Should I visit Detroit?

Answer

If you are around Saturday morning and want to check out the Motor City, we would highly recommend it! It's about forty minutes from Ann Arbor, forty five from Howell. Be sure to drive down Woodward Ave, check out the Detroit Institute of Arts and Motown Museum, have brunch at Le Supreme, walk around Eastern Market, and grab coffee at Madcap.

RSVP

Please RSVP by July 1st. We hope to get to celebrate with you!

Please enter the first and last name of one member of your party below.
