Minneapolis Institute of Art
The Minneapolis Institute of Art collects, preserves, and makes accessible many works of art from the world’s diverse cultures. General admission is free. Fun Fact: Mikalia and Eric considered this as our wedding venue! And went here for Art in Bloom this year.
Wooden Ship Brewing Company
If you enjoy craft beer and a good time visit Woodenship Brewing Co. This brewery is owned and operated by friends of Mikalia. Fun fact: She was their first employee. She worked there the summer before starting her job at DeLaSalle HS.
Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
Enjoy a delightful, free, walk through a garden of sculptures. While you are in the neighborhood, consider a walk around Lake of the Isles or an ice cream treat from Sebastian Joes. Mikalia and Eric brought our parents and Mikalia's grandparents here on Mother's Day to enjoy the sculptures and an Art Fair.
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
Enjoy a walk through the zoo, or a stroll through a jungle-y greenhouse. Entrance is free! Eric and Mikalia have gone in the winter ❄️ to enjoy the warmth and greenery 🌿
Gai Noi
A great place for dinner with a lovely patio to enjoy the Minnesota summer. They don't take reservations but it's worth the wait. Do not skip the appetizers *especially the Thai Basil Wings!
Mojo Coffee Gallery
Mikalia's favorite Coffee Shop. They have art for sale by local artists, live music, a gorgeous patio and a huge parking lot.
Boom Island Park
This is one of our favorite parks in Minneapolis and right next to Nicollette Island, where Mikalia works.
Edwards Dessert Kitchen
This place has absolutely lovely desserts that are extremely flavorful and creative. Eating here is an experience! Mikalia and Eric had an impromptu date here when we got all dressed up for the DLS Gala and it ended up being on a different night....let's just call that a "dress rehearsal" lol
