Parents of the Bride
Jose & Hortencia are high school sweethearts whose love began in the halls of Bowen High School over 30 years ago. Their romance had an unforgettable start, when Jose's very first words to Hortencia were, "Would you marry me?" This bold and charming proposal was part of a class project, but it quickly turned into the beginning of a genuine and enduring love. Together, they have built a loving & supportive home for their four children: Elizabeth, their firstborn who is stepping into a new chapter of her life, along with her three siblings, Chris, Nick, & Lori. Their journey from high school sweethearts to lifelong companions set powerful example of what true love looks like. Elizabeth always dreamed of finding a love as authentic and enduring as her parents', and this year, she celebrates finally finding that love in her own life.
Parents of the Groom
Garry and Mindy first met in 1989, shortly after Garry returned home from his time in the US Army. His Mother, Gail encouraged him to meet a young woman who she worked with. That woman was Mindy, and once her and Garry finally met, it wasn't long until the two were madly in love, and began their journey together. Garry was immediately a fan of Mindy's 88 Firebird, but quickly gained interest in everything about her. They were married in the Spring of 1991 in beautiful Tennessee, where Mindy's Family resides. In early 1993, they welcomed their only child Kyle into the world. They gave Kyle all of their love and care throughout his life, and continue to be massively supportive of his dreams. They are beyond thrilled and proud to know that Kyle and Elizabeth have found each other, and that they will soon begin their own journey.
Officiant
From the very beginning Elaina has been a steadfast supporter of Elizabeth & Kyle's relationship. Even before the sparks of romance flew, Elaina was there, encouraging their individual journeys and believing in the special bond that would eventually bring them together. Their story goes back to when all three of them worked together. Amid the hustle and bustle of daily work life, Elaina recognized the unique connection between Elizabeth & Kyle. With a heart full of joy and encouragement, Elaina championed their budding friendship and, later, their blossoming love.
Maid of Honor
Liz is one of Elizabeth's oldest friends. The two originally met in Girl Scouts during the 5th grade and reconnected during their senior year of high school. The Elizabeth's have navigated life's myriad paths, always finding their way back to each other. Their relationship is built on a foundation of inclusivity, embracing each others unique journeys while creating a shared space where dreams and aspirations are nurtured. Though their lives have taken them in different directions, their connection remains a constant source of joy and support. Liz will be traveling from Georgia where she lives with her husband Cody, son Gavin, and daughter Elyse.
Best Man
Kyle has been friends with Luke for the vast majority of his life. They grew up only a few doors away from each other in Union Mills, Indiana, and first met when they were in kindergarten. Throughout elementary, high school, and eventually college in Chicago, the two have always held a strong bond with each other. Growing up, the two spent their years following their imaginations and playing outside, going to the movies, making up stories, and making each other laugh. In August of 2022, Kyle was Luke's Best Man at his wedding. Naturally, Luke was happy when asked to do the same for his best friend, and did not hesitate to say yes. Luke is very excited to stand with Kyle on his happiest of days.
