3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Please join us for a backyard happy hour at E & J's new home! We will provide some drinks and light bites (there may be an apple cider press on site!).
4:00 pm - 10:30 pm
We're excited to party! Please note that the venue is about 45 minutes from downtown Missoula, so plan travel time accordingly.
Flight
The airport is about a 10 minute drive from downtown. Ubers are available but usually take about 15-20 mins to arrive. If you are renting a car, most car companies are located at the airport with the exception of a few!
Flight
If you are planning on doing a road trip before or after the wedding or you plan to rent a vehicle, there are a few other airports you could choose from which may have cheaper flight options than flying directly into Missoula. If you are interested in checking out Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman is the closest airport (3 hours away from Missoula) and if you are going to Flathead Lake or Glacier National Park, Kalispell Airport is the closest (2.5 hours away from Missoula). Spokane Airport (3 hours away from Missoula) is also an option for cheaper flights depending on where you're flying in from.
House Or Rental
There are lots of great Airbnb options in town! It's hard to choose a bad location in Missoula, but we would recommend staying as close to downtown as possible for ease of access to all things fun. Here are some great neighborhoods to look in: University District, The Hip Strip, Rose Park, The Slant Streets, The Rattlesnake, or Downtown. Please note: the train yards in/near town are very active and can be very loud at all hours of the day and night, so keep that in mind if you find a place close to the tracks. Feel free to ask us if you'd like more intel on good spots to stay!
Hotel
There are quite a few hotel options in Missoula or closer to the hotel venue in Victor, Stevensville, or Hamilton. In Missoula, we would recommend the Wren, the Holiday Inn Downtown, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Missoula- Edgewater, or the newly opened LOGE Missoula. The C'mon Inn isn't walkable to downtown, but does offer multiple hot tubs in the lobby if that's your jam!
Travel Note
There are a few spots to camp near Missoula, but they are a bit outside of town (25 minutes- 1 hour away). Feel free to ask us for more specific recommendations. HOWEVER! Camping is available on the grounds of our venue (the Homestead on McVey) on the night of the wedding (September 21st) and there is one RV hookup available. Reach out to us with any questions!
Some of our favorite spots in town: Waterworks Hill Lincoln Hills on Mt. Jumbo Rattlesnake National Recreation Area (Elena did her thesis research here!) Mt Dean Stone (Barmeyer, Sousa TH, and the House of Sky Trail) McClay Flats (river access, very flat) Bitterroot Front Trails (near or close to our wedding venue!): Sweathouse Creek/Falls St. Mary's Peak Fire Lookout Blodgett Canyon Overlook Trapper Peak (if you want to get over 10,000 ft!)
Missoula is super accessible by bike and there are a number of bike trails that span the city. Check out the Milwaukee River Trail and the Bitterroot Trail for easy flat rides through town. If you're so inclined, you could bike the Bitterroot Trail from downtown Missoula to our wedding venue in Victor, MT (35 miles one way). We have a few bikes that may be available for folks to borrow- just let us know if you're interested! Missoula also has a plethora of great gravel/mountain bike trails close by. Here are some of our faves: Lincoln Hills (North Loop and Sound of Music) Mt. Dean Stone (House of Sky) Blue Mountain
Missoula sits at the confluence of three incredible rivers: The Clark Fork, the Blackfoot (setting of the book/film "A River Runs Through It"), and the Bitterroot. The Bitterroot, the Blackfoot, and nearby Rock Creek are blue-ribbon trout streams and should be fishing great in September! Check out Blackfoot Outfitters, LB Snow, or LoveBoat Paddle for boat rentals and more. There are a number of guide service in town. Please note: A fishing license is required (1 day- $32, 5 days- $73.50 for non-MT residents).

Some of our fave restaurants: Biga Pizza (can get take out and sit at nearby brewery- Cranky Sam's) Zoo Thai Tagliare (best sandwhich spot in town) Florabella (fancyish) Cruz Tacos Gild Garden City Taqueria (food truck at Imagination Brewery) Breweries: Draughtworks (our personal fave) Kettlehouse Imagination Great Burn Cocktails: Montgomery Distillery Bar Plata O.G. MT Bars: The Union Club Charlie B's (a must-stop!)
Montana is a very casual place, wear whatever makes you feel your best! Most of the ceremony/reception will be outside on grass, so keep that in mind for your footwear choices.
If you got 'em, bring 'em!
The venue is located about 45 minutes from downtown Missoula. We'd be happy to provide transportation for those who need it, but we are aware that many folks are planning to rent cars to further explore the area. Let us know when you RSVP if you would like a ride to or from the venue, and we will do our best to make arrangements and follow up with you directly!
We do not wish our potluck style reception to be a burden on anyone. See the potluck spreadsheet for a few suggestions on good places in town for a quick grab-and-go side to bring if cooking isn't possible. If you'd prefer to just bring yourself, that's totally fine too- just give us a heads up!
Usually pretty ideal! Average daytime temperatures run in the 70s with sunset around 7:30pm. With festivities extending into the evening, be prepared for the potential for cooler temperatures (i.e. bring a jacket). This is usually a stable, drier period of the year but Montana is known to dish out some dynamic weather! In the event of cold temperatures or rain, we have indoor space on site where we can celebrate out of the elements.
Yes you can! There will be a few designated areas for tent camping on the wedding night, as well as one RV hookup spot. Bathroom facilities are available but are somewhat primitive. Please note: Everyone needs to be out of the venue by 10:30 AM the next day.
