Travel Note

The Courtyard at the Lightner Museum

An iconic building at the heart of the Historic District, The Lightner Museum Building is located in St. Augustine, Florida, the oldest city in the United States. The Lightner Courtyard was the center jewel within the Alcazar Hotel which was built in 1888. This is a rare opportunity to capture that special feeling. The Lightner Museum is located in world-reknowned downtown St. Augustine, Florida. It is 20 minutes from I-95, one hour from Daytona Beach and two hours from Orlando. Address: 75 King Street St. Augustine,FL 32084

Wedding Party

Brian Bennett

Officiant

Brian is Ryan’s Cousin and 4th favorite family member. Rumors state that after attending more than 45 weddings over a 5-year period (including his own), Brian decided to be officially ordained to perform ceremonies for friends & family. He is also Edilane & Ryan’s unofficial Wedding Coordinator/Consultant.

Adam Julier

Best Man

Adam and Ryan have been friends since 2004. Ryan was first introduced to Adam through Vanessa, his wife, who begged Ryan to allow her new husband to join his recreational Softball Team. While Adam’s large stature may have intimidated pitchers, his first three at-bats were slow dribblers that did not make it out of the infield. Despite his horrible debut, Ryan decided not to cut him, and a close friendship evolved quickly.

Caroline Silva

Maid of Honor

Caroline is Edilane’s daughter and perennial “Life of the Party.” A mainstay on the Dean’s List at Florida State University, Caroline possesses that rare combination of Brains, Beauty, & Wit. All attributes that she, of course, inherited from her mother.

Emma Julier

Flower Girl

Emma is Adam’s daughter and the all-time tallest student in her school classrooms. It has been Emma’s dream to be part of a wedding, which Ryan & Edilane were more than willing to oblige her wishes after their first two choices passed on the opportunity (just kidding).

FAQs

Question

Where can I Park?

Answer

There are plenty of paid parking lots around the Lightner Museum and Historic Downtown St. Augustine District. St. Augustine provides a mix of street and lot parking that utilize pay stations - the rate is $2.50 an hour. The city crest makes official city parking zones easily recognizable. As of November 6, 2023, paid parking is enforced until 9:00 p.m., seven days a week. St. Augustine's Historic Downtown Parking Facility offers parking spaces for 1,200 vehicles across from the Visitor Information Center just north of the main downtown pedestrian walkway, St. George Street. Address: 1 Cordova St. St. Augustine, FL 32084

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The Wedding Ceremony will begin promptly at 2 pm. We recommend arriving to St. Augustine no later than 1:30 pm which will leave you plenty of time to find parking and walk to the Lightner Museum. Don’t worry though, once parked you won’t have to drive again until the reception is over!

Question

What should I wear? What is the dress code?

Answer

We request Semi-Formal and Cocktail Attire for all guests. The best way to define cocktail and semi-formal attire is as the middle ground between business wear and black tie: more dressy than the former, less formal than the latter. Feminine semi-formal wear is a broad category that includes midi dresses, maxi-dresses, wrap dresses, cocktail dresses, pantsuits, and jumpsuits. If you choose to wear a dress, your hemline can fall below the knee. For men, semi-formal attire is slightly more relaxed while still requiring a blazer with matching dress pants or a 2-piece suit, along with a dress shirt and in most cases, a tie.
