How it Started ♡

Dillon and Victoria started following each other on Instagram in 2015. This was back when the algorithm suggested friends to follow on its “For You” page based on the current friends you’re already following. It didn’t take long for Victoria to notice a friend who she grew up with, Quinten, in one of Dillon’s photos. Victoria and Quinten never went to grade school together, but knew each other through mutual friends and by hanging out at the baseball fields in Missouri City when they were kids. A few short weeks after Dillon and Victoria started following each other on Instagram, Victoria randomly ran into Quinten out at a bar one night. Although they had not seen each other in years, they caught up and Victoria told Quinten to tell his friend Dillon she thought he was cute. Quinten laughed, said Dillon was a great guy, and that he would put in a good word. About a week later it was Victoria’s sister, Morgan’s, birthday. The family went to Papasito’s to celebrate, and as they were leaving dinner, that’s when it happened. Victoria and Dillon, who still had not spoken or been introduced, looked up at the same time and caught each other’s eye. They both immediately looked away realizing they recognized each other. Victoria says she was so embarrassed that she ran out of the restaurant as fast as she could. When they got home later, Victoria explained to her mom “that’s the guy I follow on Instagram!” She frantically told her mom she knew Dillon saw her and that she saw him, but she was conflicted on whether to reach out to him or not. She didn’t want to make the first move, but she also felt VERY awkward after the direct eye contact that had obviously just happened. Victoria’s mom told her “just message him and say hello. What do you have to lose?” Victoria took her mom’s advice and direct messaged Dillon. “Hey was that you sitting by the tortilla machine at Papasito’s?” Victoria admits what a horrendous pick up line that was, but finds it hilarious because it worked. Dillon messaged back and the rest was history. The next day Dillon left to California to go train for his upcoming baseball season. During that two week window, Dillon and Victoria would talk on the phone, message each other and Face Time. It was during one of the Face Times Victoria heard Dillons roommate and training buddy say “is that Vic on the phone? What’s up Vic!” Turns out Quinten was the one with Dillon. Small world! When Dillon got back home from training, he and Victoria hung out for 2 weeks before Dillon had to leave for his baseball season in Modesto. After the season was over, Dillon came home and made Victoria his girlfriend. They have been together ever since. They share a beautiful daughter, Jade, and are still very much in love with tortillas, Mexican food, and Papasito’s.
