Thomas Jefferson's Monticello
Monticello is the historic home of Thomas Jefferson and is a very popular Charlottesville attraction. People come from all over the country just to visit this picturesque plantation. There are guided tours, behind the scenes tours and walking tours available to fit every interest!
Washington, D.C
Washington, D.C is about two hours from Charlottesville. It is a very easy drive or you can hop on an Amtrak train that pulls right into Union Station, in the heart of the city. This is an easy day trip filled with museums, tours, historic landmarks and memorials.
Colonial Williamsburg
Colonial Williamsburg is a 90-minute drive from Charlottesville. It's an easy drive for a quick day trip and is rich with history. Fall is a beautiful time to walk to cobblestone streets, take a guided tour or have lunch in one of the many taverns.
Downtown Mall
The Downtown Walking Mall in Charlottesville is a local hotspot with an eclectic blend of great restaurants. If the weather is nice, many places have outdoor seating. A favorite is Citizen Burger Bar.

Humpback Rocks
If you love to hike, Humpback Rock is a gorgeous trail. You’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as far as the eye can see when you reach the top.
Downtown Staunton
Downtown Staunton, Virginia is a historic district with local shops and restaurants. A favorite is The Depot Grill situated in an old train station which features great Southern fare.
