Chris was playing games with two of our good friends in one of the dorms at George Mason University. Darleen was coming in from doing laundry and a fourth person was needed and so she was asked to play with them. We played a game called Read My Lips. The girls creamed the guys. We had a ton of fun.....and the rest is history.

We had a friends' outing to go see Lion King at University Mall Theaters with dinner before at Roy Roger's. Chris was at the fixin's bar with Elaine. When Elaine came back to the table, she said to Darleen - We need to go to the bathroom. So, off to the bathroom Darleen and Elaine went. Elaine proceeded to tell Darleen that Chris LIKED her! One of the best days of Darleen's life and one she won't ever forget.

Chris took Darleen to dinner at Old Peking, Chris' favorite Chinese Restaurant. After dinner, he asked her to take a walk. He then turned with a ring box and opened it. Inside the box was a note (no ring) that said - "I don't have a ring. All I have is this piece of paper from my notebook, this pen from my kitchen, the ink from my pen, and these words from my heart..." He then said APRIL FOOLS and pulled out a ring from his pocket.
