Our lovely and loving, friend and coworker, Kendra had an epiphany. She sent both of us an innocuous text informing us she has this friend, whenever we're ready to rejoin the dating world. Neither of us wanted to start a relationship yet, but were both willing to hear her out. With little information about each other (we literally didn't even know each others' names), Kendra orchestrated the contact information swap. It took about 72 hours for us to put it together and we met for lunch where we established neither of us were in any kind of hurry, but had an interest in getting to know the other. So in stereotypically queer fashion, we started dating the next month. Thank you Kendra.

Sibling
Janelle met Corinne at 3 years old when Janelle's babysitter lived next to Corinne's grandparents. Corinne invited Janelle over to play and so it began. Mama called Janelle's mom, Patsy, to coordinate weekend playdates and talk about how cool it would be if they stayed friends for the rest of their lives. 27 years later, here we are!
Sibling
This is Sib, Janelle's "little" brother. He has an impressive number of dad jokes and zero offspring with whom to embarrass. David currently lives in Georgia with his wife, Oriana, and their cat. He served in the Air Force for six years and now does...something else.
Sibling
This is Lil Sib. Don't let the nickname fool you, he is actually 6' 4" and towers over his older sister, Janelle. (But, wait - wasn't the other brother "little" sib? Yes, and this one is "Lil Sib." Totally different.) Alex DuFresne (the original) takes great joy in placing things on tall shelves, but will also help you retrieve your Christmas envelope from the top of the tree.
Sibling
This is Jessie aka Sissy. Everyone wants Janelle to feel her height, as Jessie is also over 6'. She is a true partner in crime and will do everything she can to help someone in need. Did we mention she's a massage therapist?
Mother of the Bride
Janelle's Mom Patsy brought Janelle into this world and she can take her out of it! Just kidding. No one actually asks if these two are related, especially when they stand next to each other.
Mother of the Bride
Janelle's Mom Lisa is one of two bonus parents! When Janelle was younger, Lisa and the sibs would jokingly refer to Lisa as the Wicked Stepmother. If that isn't the epitome of an inaptronym!
Father of the Bride
Janelle's Dad Pete, like his oldest son, has an impressive repertoire of dad jokes. Unlike his son, Pete does have offspring to embarrass. Well... he can try.
Father of the Bride
Janelle's Dad Steve is one of two bonus parents! He endured the many princess-themed birthdays Janelle decorated for him, and taught her the little bit of archery she knows. A man of many talents, he also handmade weapons for Janelle's nerd conventions and a very customized leather tote.
Mother of the Bride
Alex's Mom The first thing you need to know about Diane is that she is a shopping extraordinaire and her church of choice is DSW (yes, the shoe store!). And who can blame her? Janelle has never not appreciated Diane's footwear. Like mother like daughter, Diane and Alex can't smile with their eyes open. Not only does this make for cute photos, you can also feel the joy in them.
Father of the Bride
Alex's Dad When Alex was little, her dad had a poster of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator in his workout area. Young Alex thought this was a picture of her dad. Don't be fooled by his appearance! He loves "all the nerdy stuff!" David has participated in Pennsic Wars and Warhammer campaigns, and could be seen sporting a kilt when he was a bouncer.
Siblings
*Please note: the only reason Erik and Becca are combined is because we really like this photo* Erik is described as incredibly kind-hearted and witty. At this point, he's a travel expert like Becca and has plenty of stories to share. Erik has trained a dog almost the same size as him, and he has an eye for projects around the house. Becca is really lovely and will be a fantastic nurse practitioner. She has a way of making everyone around her feel included and comfortable. Regardless of where you're going, Becca always has the perfect recommendation! Fun Facts: Becca's heart city is Nashville, and she has been part of Alex's life since her junior year of high school.
Papa, obviously
Papa is the best for several reasons. 1. He's the best travel companion 2. He "puts up with" Alex's silliness 3. Papa is funny, though you might not know it at first, because he is quiet. 4. His taste in movies ranges from Irish romantic comedies to movies like Full Metal Jacket. (No one realized Janelle had never seen Full Metal Jacket before, so she watched it for the first time without any context or warning. Don't worry. We watched a rom-com afterward)
We're calling it comfortably formal. Whatever that means for you is great for us!
Janelle is a terrible describer of things - please call a bride or a mom and we will get you covered!
Found one!
Unfortunately, not this time. I know, big sad for us too.
The Historical Society has multiple parking areas for the hall we are using. There is some parking at the venue, which will be reserved for folks who need to be a little closer to the building. A marked map is coming soon.
