Abishai and Sydnee met during their senior year at Point Loma Nazarene University and had only one class together. Sydnee voluntarily chose to sit next to him, and the two became delightfully disruptive classmates in the back of the room. Abishai later invited Sydnee to a young adults retreat in Big Bear, where they connected on a deeper level. They were both moved by each other’s testimony of faith manifest within their lives, which naturally blossomed into mutual romantic feelings. Their story is one of profound faith, love, respect, and ridiculous humor. These two peas in a pod are beyond grateful for the support and love you have shown, and they can’t wait to celebrate their marriage with you. 😎

To celebrate their one-year milestone of dating, Abishai planned to propose to Sydnee at the location of their first date: Torrey Pines. This hike along the San Diego coast was where they first felt a fondness towards one another and decided their relationship was worth the pursuit. On May 26, 2024, Sydnee accepted the most important offer of her life: to spend the rest of it with Abishai. 😎

Once married, Abishai and Sydnee will be living in La Jolla, committed to pursuing a holy life: loving their neighbors as themselves and being lights in a dark world. They are drawn to a marriage yielding incredible hospitality, investment and care to friends, family, coworkers, and those in need. Abishai will continue to serve in the United States Coast Guard and as an Administrative Assistant at Reese Law Group. Sydnee will continue her position as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor at Point Loma Nazarene University, and plans to pursue a masters degree in clinical counseling. Combining their lives and joining together as family is a dream come true. 😎
