Good things always happened to Eliza, better known as 'Diece,' when she was at Ranalli's. What's not to love? The Lincoln Park pizza joint has great food, strong drinks, and more TVs than one can count. It also brought Diece good luck: Ranalli's was where she had watched her beloved Washington Capitals win the 2018 Stanley Cup. So when she wanted some extra cash on top of her 9-to-5 advertising job, she started moonlighting as a waitress there. To her, Ranalli's couldn't get any better. She was wrong. Chris moved to Lincoln Park in the summer of 2019 and quickly became a summer regular at the Ranalli's outdoor patio. One Saturday, he came with his high school friend, Johnny Wingels, who just so happened to know Diece from their college days at Miami University. Chris and Johnny were seated in Diece's section at Table 11. Pleasantries were exchanged, introductions were made, and Hot Honey Soppressata pizzas were served. And the two young protagonists' eyes met for the first time. Still, Diece wasn't quite ready to do anything with the phone number she saw written on Chris's receipt. Nor was she later that summer, when Chris's number found its way onto yet another Ranalli's receipt. The fun seemed to end with Ranalli's patio season. But no: the Chicago Holly Ball, a December charity event, drew attention from Chris's and Diece's respective friend groups. Those eyes met once more, this time from across a dance floor. Chris and Diece spent the rest of the evening getting to know each other. Chris wasn't going to let Diece slip away again. He shared his number for the third time (not that anyone's counting) and said, "I'd love to take you out for a drink whenever you're ready." As they say, the third time's the charm. Days later, Diece texted Chris, "I'm ready for that drink when you are!" The rest is history. After three months of dating in Chicago, Chris and Diece decided to act on their mutual love of San Francisco and make the move together. Four years later, they continue to enjoy everything the Bay Area offers, especially skiing at Lake Tahoe. Each year, Chris and Diece share a winter lease with friends at Lake Tahoe, which has become a home away from home. It was a no brainer for the two to make it official in the place they love the most!
