The ceremony will be on grass and reception will have pebbles and grass surrounding the area, please plan shoes/heels accordingly!

We can't wait for you to experience all the beauty that Lake James brings! As Charlotte is a two hour drive from the lake, we have some recommendations that are closer to the venue. Morganton is the closest small town to Lake James being around a 30 minute drive from the venue. Asheville is a great city located an hour away from the venue. There are also many airbnb options along Lake James which we would highly recommend if you're interested in more time by the water and less of a drive! Below are a few hotel ideas in Morganton and Asheville for your convenience.

Located in Asheville is the Biltmore in which you can explore the estate for the day, stop by their shops, enjoy the spa, or even stay a night here! Be sure to get tickets beforehand if interested in touring the grounds.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting semi-formal garden attire including but not limited to lighter hues, neutrals, earthy pastels, florals. Ladies can wear floor-length, tea-length, or midi dresses while gentlemen would look great in a suit. Both the ceremony and reception will be located outside. Ladies, opt for a block heel, wedge, or flat as the terrain is not optimal for narrow heels. The ceremony will be on grass and reception will have pebbles and grass surrounding the area.
