We first met at Morningside College’s Telethon. We worked together and Melanie was even Brian’s boss for awhile! We were friends throughout college, always chit chatting when we’d run into each other. We used to play the card game “Werewolf” in the Roadman Hall with other students freshman year and stayed acquainted after we both moved off campus. In the end, we were both too shy to ever say we liked each other. Thank goodness there’s apps for that now!! We went on our first date in the height of the COVID pandemic and made it official on June 18th 2020.
Our proposal story is a little different, but perfectly fitting for us. It happened in our home. It was calm and special because it was just us surrounded by what we’ve built for ourselves. We told each other that we want to spend the rest of our lives together and Brian ordered the ring. He picked the perfect one! Once the ring came in, Brian walked into the house and got on his knee in our living room and popped the question. The answer was obvious! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. We’re having a tiny ceremony in the Sequoia forest with our parents accompaniments, but will be having celebratory receptions later in our home states. See you then!
Yes! We have a registry through Zola, Target, Crate & Barrel, and Amazon. All the registries are synced with Zola's registry, but if you prefer the link for the specific registries, just let us know!
We're having a very tiny and intimate wedding ceremony here in California. It will be only us, our parents, and our brothers. It's kind of an elopement, but with a couple of extra people to cheer us on.
This is where the fun will be! We are going to have two separate receptions. One will be held in Nebraska and one will be held in Iowa. Since our hometowns are about 12 hours apart, this will be the easiest and most accessible way to celebrate with you all. We'll be sending out physical invitations with all the details!
We are so grateful for any gifts anyone plans to give us! Since we will be traveling by air to and from the Midwest for our receptions, it may be difficult to pack gifts into our luggage. If it is anything large, we please ask that you ship it to the address on the registry for ease of travel.
