Our Story
Ian and Alaina first got to know one another Summer of 2021 in Charleston, S.C. while she was working for AmeriCorps and he was working for a local brewery, Edmunds Oast. By the time Ian finally got the courage to ask Alaina on a date, she was leaving for North Carolina for her senior year of college—the next day actually! A month later, Ian found himself camping in Asheville, N.C. and Alaina joined him. Ian and Alaina spent the next few months navigating long-distance before moving together to Washington D.C. so Alaina could complete her Master’s degree. Now, they spend their days walking the National Mall, trying new restaurants (St. Anselms is a fav!), and adding to their collection of Lego displays.

Is there a dress code?

Our wedding is a semi-formal occasion. We recommend a light jacket and comfortable shoes as the weather in November can be chilly!

Are kids welcome and/or can I bring a plus one?
Answer
Although we love your little ones, please note our wedding will be an adult-only affair. The only children present will be those in the wedding party. The number of seats reserved in your honor is located on your RSVP card. Thank you for your understanding.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?
Answer
We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during our ceremony. We have experienced photographers capturing our day and we will happily share our professional images with you after the wedding!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
We recommended arriving 20 minutes early to give ample time for parking. There will be hot apple cider available starting at 3:30 PM.
