Lisa was born and raised in Chapel Hill, and went to UNC for undergrad (Go Heels!). Franklin Street is the main drag and there are great restaurants, shops, etc. The UNC campus is beautiful--check out Coker Arboretum and the Old Well!
Chapel Hill and Carrboro flow into each other. Carrboro is a former mill town with some funky stores and restaurants.

A paved trail winding its way through the woods alongside Bolin Creek. It's pretty flat and an easy trek. Trail starts behind rose garden at the Chapel Hill Community Center.
The Forest Theatre is a really cool stone amphitheatre on the edge of UNC's campus. Battle Park has trails through the woods.
The Planetarium is one of the coolest places in Chapel Hill. NASA astronauts trained there in the 50s and 60s! Some shows are designed for kids but others are more adult-friendly. You can call and ask them.
Great brewery and restaurant for lunch or a drink, overlooking downtown Chapel Hill.
Cat Cafe!!!
In a two-mile stretch between Chapel Hill and Carrboro there are six different craft breweries.
