I first saw Espérance on facebook under people you may know . Out of curiosity I clicked on her profile & wow! She looked so beautiful, so I decided to slide into her inbox and BOY! Thats the longest I’ve ever waited on a response….time went by and I completely gave up, forgot about the text and I moved on. One day after my gym session I decided to pass by my parents house to check on my mom, as we were catching up, like an original African mom, she was busy watching her friend’s WhatsApp statuses, she then came across my aunt’s status and she had posted a picture of this beautiful woman, so beautiful that my mom was mesmerized by her black beauty that she said to me “ Bodwin! look at this beautiful black girl, I like her skin tone “ when I went to see what my mom was so amazed by, I was astonished to see the same picture of the same girl I had seen on Facebook a few months back, my mom quickly noticed the shock on my face so she asked me if I knew the girl & I told her everything, later on we came to find out that my aunt and Espérance’s mom were best friends. That same day I contacted my aunt and asked for Espe’s full name, then I called one of my blue boys friend and we did a full background check on her. 💪🏾 After getting all the information, I decided to TRY AGAIN!!! I inbox her but this time through instagram, and FINALLY she responded. After few days of back and forth messages, we decided to get on a call and the conversation lasted for 10hrs 24mins, I quickly noticed how easy it was to hold a conversation with this woman, we literally had an instant connection and could relate to each other in so many ways. Espérance made me feel whole again and for the first time in a long time, I had a genuine laugh, I thought to myself, “this is the woman I’m meant to be with!” I realized that indeed destiny may delay but can never be denied.

After being in a relationship for a while, we got to know each other more and I began to realize that Espérance was not only beautiful, but also very smart, hardworking, kind, generous, selfless and mostly, her spiritual maturity is on a high level, I couldn’t wait any longer! I’ve found the virtuous woman I’ve been longing for, so decided that I was going to make her my wife. I call her mom, asked for permission and went on to get the ring. 💍 One thing about Espé, she’s very nosy, so I already knew it was going to be hard yo pull a good proposal surprise, she’s always wanting to FaceTime, so it was going to be impossible to travel from New York to Arizona without her noticing, but thanks my older brother Paul, her older brother Fido and few friends for coming through, it’s a long story but all I can say is! WE MADE IT WORK OUT! I came to Arizona, surprised her with a proposal & thank God she said yes! Yes to forever!

We have a few favorite memories with each other but the one we both agree on was the first time getting to see each other in person. At the Tucson Intl Airport at exactly 11pm, it’s a feeling that we both can’t put in words, I think the people around us must’ve thought we were out of our minds because as we hugged, we couldn’t let go of each other for about 8 minutes, our little sister got a little annoyed by us 😂😂😂 Later on we drove home listening to our favorite country song, Forever After All by Luke Combs & the rest is history!
