Glad you asked! In those 40+ years of gathering at the beach, the Bracknells have created a lot of traditions: lounging hard on the beach, playing games (sometimes competitively), and cooking family dinners, to name a few. Somewhere along the way, we added after dinner entertainment. It started with the youngest family members forming a musical trio, complete with an emcee and hype man. Every year it grew. Even adults jumped in, showcasing talent in all forms, often ending in a full-on, all ages dance party. In Bracknell family fashion, we invite you to lounge hard on the beach, play games, eat dinners and celebrate by continuing this special tradition. Bring your best joke, your go-to karaoke song, stupid human trick or whatever you like! (No pressure! Participation completely optional, of course)
A Lowcountry Boil features Old Bay, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. It’s a South Carolina classic that you can pour out onto a newspaper lined table, crack a beer and go to town.
Everyone is on their own from morning until dinner each night. We hope you will join us for some serious beach time, but please feel free to do whatever you want to! Go out to lunch, run, walk, explore or relax.
Good question, really don't know! Just always has been. Now we are curious!
The houses where we are all staying are located in North Litchfield Beach, which is a smaller beach community within the greater Pawleys Island area.
