We're getting married!

Ben and I crossed paths many times in college before we dated. During orientation fall of 2016, I was walking around campus to explore things to do. Being a big fan, I walked to the hockey table to grab a schedule. Ben was the one who handed me the schedule that day, and I played the "shoot the puck" game with him before I left. In typical college fashion, I went to my fair share of house parties throughout that year, lots of them being at the hockey house where I ran into Ben. I didn't know this at the time, but Ben wanted to get to know me more; however I had a boyfriend at the time. When he found out I was single going into sophomore year, he used one of our mutual friends to bring us together - which took some hesitancy and time on my end, until I realized he was my perfect match and we were officially dating in 2018 and have been together ever since!

This weekend was a surprise golf outing fundraiser for my mom, but little did I know there was also a surprise in store for me! Friday night, my family arrived in Oshkosh and we had plans for dinner. My mom wanted family pictures beforehand. We went to a local spot on the water for pictures when Ben and I decided to take a few alone. The next thing I knew, he was down on one knee asking my hand in marriage! I was in complete shock and could not believe how beautiful the moment (and my ring) was! Afterwards, I was surprised again at dinner when I walked into a room Ben rented for the night and found all my friends and family there ready to celebrate! The day was full of excitement and happiness, one I will never forget. Everyone always asks if I knew the engagement was coming, and here's my answer: I thought it would be the perfect weekend for it as all my family and friends were in town for the outing, but I did not think Ben even had a ring! (BTW he did for 6 months)! Although at times I was anxious for the day to come, Ben could not have made it more perfect, and I am forever grateful for such a surprise.
