Our Story
Ashley and Jake were undergraduate classmates at DePaul University in Chicago, both graduating in 2011. While they didn't know each other while studying at DePaul, they met soon after graduating. They briefly dated in the following years before Ashley moved to London for graduate school. After she returned to Chicago, Ashley and Jake reconnected and started dating in July 2022. Jake proposed to Ashley on March 17th, 2024, Chicago's St. Patrick's Day, at North Avenue Beach.

The Inn on Lake Superior
The Inn on Lake Superior is situated directly on beautiful Lake Superior in Canal Park, the tourist hotspot of Duluth. Guests can walk out of the hotel and have direct access to the Lakewalk path along Lake Superior. The hotel is a short ~15 minute lakefront walk to the wedding venue along the lake.

The Sheraton Duluth Hotel is a beautiful, modern hotel directly next door to the wedding venue. There is a skyway pedestrian bridge connecting the hotel to Greysolon Ballroom. The Sheraton is just steps away from the Lakewalk path along Lake Superior and within walking distance to Canal Park and most bars and restaurants downtown.

Fitger's Inn is Duluth’s historic lakefront hotel within the renovated 1880’s Fitger’s Brewery complex. Within the complex are a number of shops, restaurants and bars. This is the "most Duluth" experience you can get. Fitger's Inn is across the street from the wedding venue and has direct access to the Lakewalk along Lake Superior.

Things To Do
Canal Park
Canal Park is the main tourist area of Duluth that borders the harbor, the canal and the lakefront. There are many restaurants, bars and hotels nearby. Check out the Lake Superior Maritime Museum, the Aerial Lift Bridge and walk out to the light house along the canal.
Fitger's Inn
The Fitger's Brewery complex is an historic building from the 1800's that now houses a number of local shops, restaurants and bars. You can walk from Fitger's right out to the lakewalk.
The Lakewalk
The Lakewalk is Duluth's famous walking and bike path that runs along Lake Superior from Canal Park up the north shore to east Duluth. Wedding guests can easily access the Lakewalk from both Fitger's Inn and The Inn on Lake Superior.
Sir Benedicts Tavern on the Lake
Sir Ben's is a classic Duluth bar next to the Fitger's complex. Located in a former gas station, the patio is one of the most popular in Duluth. Check out the large collection of local craft beers.
Pickwick Restaurant & Pub
The Pickwick is one of the "most Duluth" bars and restaurants you can find. Try some of the local craft beer or one of the local freshwater seafood dishes. A 6 foot sturgeon hanging from the ceiling greets guests as they enter the bar. It's located right in between The Sheraton and the Fitger's complex.
Canal Park Brewing Company
Located right on Lake Superior and the Lakewalk, Canal Park Brewing is a great spot for local craft beverages and tasty food.
Park Point
Located just across the Aerial Lift Bridge, Park Point is the world's longest freshwater beach. Take a stroll along the beach and enjoy panoramic views of Duluth and the north shore.
Carmody Irish Pub
A traditional Irish pub located along the "main street" known as Superior Street. Within a short walk from Sheraton, Fitger's and Greysolon Ballroom.
Duluth Rose Garden
Scenic rose garden overlooking Lake Superior and accessible via the Lakewalk.
