God Knew Before We Did

Nala Bear

Despite Austin and Alyssa having both gone to high school in Greensboro and both having graduated from NC State, the two never met one another until 2017 -- Austin's third year of law school. With that being said, that doesn't mean that their friends didn't know one another. Specifically, their mutual friend Keelie Truell (who Alyssa cheered with for the Carolina Hurricanes) was privy to a Catahoula puppy that was surrendered to Guilford County Animal Shelter. Looking for a home for the innocent baby, she texted both Austin and Alyssa. Being a mama's boy, Austin felt the need to text his mother to see if the undertaking was feasible. She eventually agreed that he could handle it (debatable). Alyssa, however, accepted right away. Thus, by the time Austin responded, the dog had already been adopted. Alas. Flash forward to October of 2017: Austin and Alyssa met as most Raleighites did at the time -- at Cornerstone Tavern. The two talked and hung out for a month or so until Austin made his way to Alyssa's apartment prior to an NC State tailgate. Little did he know that he would receive a tongue lashing from none other than the exact dog he barely missed out on just a few months ago. That's right. It was Nala. Without parsing words or hiding interpretation, God knew that Nala needed two parents -- these two parents. He also knew that that innocent puppy left on the side of the road would spark a lifelong love between Austin and Alyssa -- with the sole purpose of bringing Him glory. Nala has been the glue that binds for the past 6 years, and we hope that this gray-snout cutie is here for many more to come!

Wedding Party

Brooke Bobetich

Maid of Honor

Brooke is the youngest of the Bob Squad and arguably the smartest of the siblings (as she is an NC State Alum).

Richard McAuliffe

Best Man

Boat House Boys, Catechisms of Vulgarity, Favian, take your pick. The best 252 to 336 connection since Smithfield's opened a location in Greensboro.

Catie Scerbo

Bridesmaid

Despite her poor life choice to become a Tarheel, Catie, aka Catie Buggers, is the OG Junk Yard Dog of the Bobetich clan. As the 3rd sister of 4, she's fought tooth and nail to not be a Jan. Through the adversity, she's proven to be the wittiest and funniest of the Bobetich girls.

Tyler Weddle

Groomsman

The Dawg Pound always finds a way. Tyler is a native of Mount Airy, NC (the very same "Mayberry" from the Andy Griffith Show), and he met Austin in law school in 2015. Aside from these two gifts to Carolina jurisprudence, however, 2015 in North Carolina was also epitomized by two other legends: Luke August Kuechly and Cameron Jerrell Newton. When these two discovered that they both shared a love for all things Cardiac Cats and Bojangles, it was a wrap. #KeepPounding

Kelsey Scaggs

Bridesmaid

As my day 1, Kelsey was and has been a built in best friend. We fought, we loved, we laughed, and we cried as the OG members of the Bob Squad.

Kelsey Atkins

Groomsman

A product of Montgomery North by God Carolina, home of the Pump 'N Munch. Without hesitation, Kelsey will tell you that he did not care for AK the first time he saw him at Carmichael Gym at NC State. Hey, squatting 4 plates for 8 has a tendency to deter folks. Clearly, that has since changed. Kelsey and Austin have been through thick and thin together and are now as thick as thieves.

Journee Heinert

Bridesmaid

Journee aka Journ Dog....the first friend and family made in Chucktown. She may be a Colorado native, but she has become the biggest Carolina Panthers and Wolfpack fan to date (RAWR RAWR RAWR).

Nathan Cohen

Groomsman

Nate and AK have known each other for going on two decades, but historians know them as much more than friends. Nathan and Austin were personally and individually responsible for the renaissance of wearing two pairs of Nike socks, yet rolling the outermost pair down slightly to display another set of checks. The fad took the Piedmont Triad by storm in the late 2000's. In the current day, however, the two maintain not only a personal but a professional relationship -- providing the perfect excuse for a boys' weekend.

Julie Logan

Bridesmaid

Alyssa and Julie met in Raleigh and became fast friends despite the fact that Julie is a Patriots fan (GO STEELERS). Julie is a fierce friend, a voice of reason, and someone you always want in your corner.

Carson Logan

Groomsman

AK and Carson met through Rich after both had graduated from NC State. Their shared love for NC State, however, forged a bond stronger than ever. The two can generally be found engaging in debates on whether Norm Sloan or Jimmy Valvano was the best coach in State history, or alternatively, swapping photos of Theo/Riley and Nala.

Jill Stallings

Bridesmaid

Jill is a native of Archdale and one of the few people who knew AK and Alyssa individually prior to dating. Despite popping Alyssa's birthday bottle of champagne on her 24th birthday, the two have forged a friendship to last a lifetime. Jill has the most infectious personality and is a wizard on the tambourine. ROLL HUMPS!

Aaron Wingate

Groomsman

Austin and Aaron were a part of a very exclusive club at NC State (at least in their own minds) -- the infamous 5:30 Swole Squad. These two would spend a minimum of two hours per day at Carmichael Gym at NC State just (as Fergie would say) workin on their fitness. That turned into a lifelong friendship of dunkaroos at NC State tailgates chased with C4. You know what they say, men who grow their calves together, stay together.

Saundra Baron

Bridesmaid

Saundra aka Saunj aka Mama Cheeks. As one of AKs longest and dearest friends, she was considerably the hardest to win over. Her tenacity and dedication to her family and friends is second to none.

Vincent Tosco

Groomsman

Among all of the groomsmen, Vincent is Austin's oldest friend. To say that the two have been through a lot together doesn't begin to scratch the surface. The two would do, and often have done, anything for one another. It's the kind of friendship you read about. Da Boys, forever.

Lauren Greeson

Bridesmaid

Native to the 336, Lauren and Alyssa's tre-fo upbringing cemented a friendship that has carried them to life in Charleston, SC. #setitoff

Sloan Lindsey

Groomsman

Austin and Sloan met while Austin was in law school, but the two's relationship really flourished when the two simultaneously moved to Charleston, SC. Aside one another through thick and thin, they epitomize the words of Tracy Lawrence: "You find out who your friends are." Need something? Sloanye West will be there in 7 minutes. Long story short, Austin considers himself divinely blessed to have a friend like Sloan close by in the Low Country.

Annabel Ianuzzi

Junior Bridesmaid

Nicholas Scaggs

Ring Bearer

The man that made us aunt and uncle.

Things To Do

It's Charleston!

Shem Creek

SC 29464

Shem Creek is a must-go for any trip to Chuck Town/Mount Pleasant. The actual wedding venue is west of the Ashley, but this spot on the Cooper/Wando is a must-go for food, drink, and a sunset overlooking the Charleston Harbor. 9.9/10 chance you see dolphins!

Folly Beach

Folly Beach, SC

Charleston isn't short of beaches, but we actually almost decided on having our wedding at Folly. We love us some Folly Beach, and we wouldn't have had our wedding on Memorial Day weekend if y'all didn't have a fair shot at getting crispy in the sun. Check out Blu for drinks and some crab dip across the street at Rita's. A burger at Loggerhead's wouldn't kill anyone either.

Old South Carriage Company

14 Anson Street, Charleston, SC 29401

Sometimes you have to be a tourist in your own city. As Sandra would say, I "swanny" that these carriage tours are worth your time. Get transported back in time, learn a little about the area, and maybe get spooked at the same time (no promises your hotel won't be haunted).

Bulldog Tours

18 Anson Street, Charleston, SC 29401

If you're looking for a tour a little bit darker, Bulldog Tours does a great tour on the ghosts, murders, and pirates of Charleston.

The Windjammer

1008 Ocean Boulevard, Isle of Palms, SC 29451

The premier place for live music on the beach. Isle of Palms, generally speaking, is also a great option to spend an entire day soaking up the sun.
