The boring answer: Tinder. The fun answer: drinks, dinner, dancing in a dark room, and being mistaken for a married couple by some nosy randoms.
Bali. Fireworks (no, literally). Flowers. Like, a lot of flowers. Spoilers. And a ring that was not really a ring. Ask us about it sometime :)

Another great choice along Orchard Road!
Flight
Singapore Airlines is a world-class airline that's a member of Star Alliance and carries multiple direct flights a day from NYC, LA, and San Francisco. There are non-stop options or flights that stopover in Japan or Frankfurt, depending on which route you take. Additionally, Delta, United, Emirates, and other major airlines all fly into Singapore. Check out the airport while you're in Singapore. It's pretty great.
Train
The MRT (aka Singapore's Subway, Underground, Metro, etc): super convenient, very clean, inexpensive. Joyce and Anthony are huge fans. Best for going to Orchard Road, Marina Bay, and areas like Chinatown and Little India, etc. Bus: Download the bus@SG app for accurate timings but Google Maps works best for general directions.
Travel Note
Singapore's public transport. Singapore has several rideshare/taxi app options: Grab, Gojek, Tada, and ZDG. Some of them may require a Singaporean phone number but several should work with foreign credit cards just fine. Travel Note
If it's your first time coming to Singapore, we suggest taking some time to fly to some of the nearby destinations in the region! Some of our favorite places include: Krabi, Thailand (1.5 hours away) Phuket, Thailand (1.5 hours away) Bali, Indonesia (where we got engaged! 2.5 hours away) The Maldives (4.5 hours away) Tokyo, Japan (7 hours away and easily accessible by train to other cities) Melbourne, Australia (7 hours away) Feel free to ask us for any recommendations!
Best Man
Anthony's older brother, the co-Best Man, and expert of the pick-and-roll offense. Richie's experience in handling three idiots growing up (aka Ants, Chris, and Rebecca) has made him a very capable and loving father of two girls, including flower girl Sena. Richie has been a source of wisdom and inspiration for Anthony (he told Ants to write this).
Best Man
The co-Best Man, Chris is Anthony's younger brother. Only 16 months apart in age, Chris and Anthony have always been close, despite Chris' unfortunate condition of being a fan of Liverpool FC. As talented on the slide guitar as he is fun at a party (you'll see), Chris has been the constant reminder to Anthony that life can be pretty serious but you don't have to be.
Groomsman
Anthony's best friend, they met while both serving in the Singapore Army (though, it was at a club and not on the battlefield). A brilliant doctor by training and a good man by nature, Anthony was also best man at Thad's wedding. And in case you're wondering, the answer is yes: Thad outranks Ants. Significantly.
Groomsman
Anthony's cousin, Zander is the taller, better looking, and more successful relative that Anthony aspires to be. Over many nights out in NY together, Zander and Anthony forged their friendship and prove that blood is indeed thicker than Jaeger Bombs.
Groomswoman
Besides being Anthony's best friend - whom he has known since teenage years, attended New Year's parties, sat through many Mean Girls watch sessions, spent Wednesdays nights at various clubs, hosted poker games (burning sage included), and being the cornerstone of each others' social lives - Adrienne is just some lawyer who happens to own the naming rights to Anthony's first-born child.
Groomswoman
Anthony's oldest friend, they met while "sharing" (read: attempting to dominate) a sandbox in kindergarten. Since then, Jiselle and Anthony's friendship has endured over karaoke nights in Brooklyn, uni pasta in LA, and literal mountains in Taiwan. She has been Anthony's moral compass ever since. Jiselle can (and will) beat you in beer pong.

Maid of Honor
Joyce's best friend, they met when they were around 3 years old. Since then, they've seen each other through different schools, jobs, countries, fashion trends, concerts, and many seasons of Made in Chelsea. Did we also mention that they were housemates in London? Nothing cements a friendship more than seeing each other with unruly hair, face masks, pimple cream and a hair towel around your neck on a daily basis. Rachel has truly seen it all and has remained unfazed.
Bridesman
Better known as ‘donut boy’ to Joyce’s mother, he became friends with Joyce through an accidental SMS that was sent many years ago. Since then, their shared appreciation for emo music, Before Sunrise, and greasy food, has solidified their friendship, and the mutual understanding that they’d bail each other out of anything if the time calls for it. Joyce is also sure that Johan can out-eat just about anyone.
Bridesmaid
Lavania and Joyce were seen as inseparable twins during their days in NJC - from identical krumpler bags to identical prata orders. Joyce is constantly amazed at how Lavania successfully juggles her life as a mother, wife, lawyer and home baker, all while continuing to promptly reply her telegram messages. It's possible that they've not gone more than a week without talking to each other over the past 17 years.
Bridesmaid
While most people may know Rebecca as Anthony's little sister, founder of a social enterprise, or even @becseu, not many know how instrumental a role Rebecca has played in all things "Anthony and Joyce" - from proposal advice, to girl/family talk. Since then, the girls have scaled cliffs (albeit tiny ones) together in Jeju, overcome screaming fans at a Harry Styles concert and exchanged many a frog meme.
Bridesmaid
Affectionately known as Jia, she has been by Joyce's side since sec 1 orientation. They've spent hours on the phone since before iPhones were a thing, and may have been the only rare MG girls who listened to Jay Chou at that time. Though they were only in the same school for 2 years, their friendship has stood the test of time, distance, and hair cuts (ask us for the story).
Bridesmaid
Joyce’s #1 Skype-chat buddy at work, their relationship went way past colleague status to that of friend and confidante, having shared many great moments over korean bbq and mala xiang guo. Outside of being one of Joyce’s core pillars of support at work, this hot mama of two has also been a source of sage advice for all things relationship and fashion. She may also love rice more than Joyce.
We use the Singapore dollar, which works out to about USD$1 to SGD$1.35. There are plenty of money changers at the airport or in the central shopping area of Singapore. However, Apple Pay is widely accepted in Singapore.
We love areas like Tiong Bahru, Keong Saik, Dempsey, and Holland Village. Orchard Road is the main area for shopping and the Marina Bay area is great for sunset drinks and good views.
Besides eating? There's plenty of beautiful parks to explore, like the Botanic Gardens, Labrador Park, and Coney Island (not that Coney Island). Sentosa Island, a 15-minute drive to the southern part of Singapore, also has beach clubs, indoor skydiving, and a boardwalk. The Singapore Zoo and Night Safari are fantastic experiences, there's a ton of bars, and plenty of late night activities like karaoke, shopping at Mustafa, and of course, late night eating.
We'd recommend coming a few days before the wedding to get a feel of the city and to get over jetlag. Singapore is 12 hours ahead of the East Coast and 15 hours ahead of the West Coast. Try to stay awake :)
Singaporean cuisine contains a mix of Chinese, Malay, Indian, and even British influences. Since Singapore is known for its food, here's a few recommendations for our favorite dishes and where to get them: Chicken Rice - Wee Nam Kee in Novena, Ah Tai at Maxwell Food Center, Chin Chin Eating House at Purvis Street Chili Crab - Jumbo Seafood, Roland Restaurant in Marine Parade (the rumored originators of Chili Crab!) Roti Prata - Master Prata at Alexandra Central (Joyce's favorite place growing up... And today), Springleaf Prata Fried "Carrot Cake" (savory Chinese style) - Heng's Carrot Cake at Newton Circus (everywhere else is second place) Seafood Soup - Xian Ji Seafood Soup at Alexandra Village Bars - The Other Room at Marriott Singapore (where Joyce and Anthony had their first date!), Lantern at Fullerton Bay Hotel (great views of the Marina Bay area), Manhattan Bar, Atlas We suggest going to any hawker center (Tiong Bahru, Maxwell, Alexandra Village, ABC Brickworks, etc) and just order a bunch of stuff. It's hard to go wrong. And for all the other spots, check out Anthony's list, which was published by The Infatuation (casual flex): https://www.theinfatuation.com/singapore/guides/best-restaurants-bars-singapore
