All good love stories need a beginning. Ours found its start on the campus of UW-River Falls during Andrews final year in the secondary education program and Elsa's 2nd year studying field biology. We first met each other the year before when we both lived in Crabtree Hall and were members of the Swing Dance Club. Casual greetings and occasional dances during club meetings was the extent of our contact. In the fall of 2013, we both lived in South Fork Suites, where, due to being the only members of the Swing Dance Club living there, we often would walk back together. Conversations about books, ambitions, and life led to even deeper feelings blossoming. We began hanging outside of Swing Dance Club as friends almost every day doing home work and watching Game of Thrones together. Our first date was a nature hike in Glenn Park, where Elsa pointed out all the plants that could make Andrew sick and climbing trees together. Later Andrew asked her on a more "official" date to Pier 500 in Hudson. Soon after, as in later that night, they began dating. That spring Andrew graduated UWRF and moved back to the Twin Cities to begin his career in education, but made trips regularly back to River Falls. The following spring Elsa graduated with her degree and accepted a position at Fort Snelling State Park as a Naturalist. Over the next few years Andrew and Elsa were kept apart as their jobs were many miles and sometimes states away. Eventually Andrew got sick of this and bought something shiny from a jewelry store. By the fates Elsa called him the next day to let him know that she was offered a job in the Twin Cities. Soon they moved in together and in May Andrew orchestrated a surprise. A lie about a photoshoot to help wipe away suspicion, a talented photographer friend, and the help of Andrew's brother Nick and the plan was set. Elsa asked lots of questions but the lies stuck. Elsa and Andrew arrived at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville as couple, but left engaged.
