We met summer of 2023 when Alyssa moved to Virginia Beach for school and Lucas was leading kayak tours in North Carolina's Outer Banks. After our 12 hour first date adventuring around Virginia Beach, we already felt like best friends and knew we had to see each other again. After a few more all-day dates, Lucas left for a 3 week international trip. When we both missed each other dearly during Lucas's trip, he returned with sweet post cards from each location and a "will you be my girlfriend?" After seven months of learning, loving, and laughing, Lucas got down on one knee on the beach in the beautiful Outer Banks and asked Alyssa to be his Bride on May 25, 2024. We are so thankful for how God led us to each other over 25 years and from 3,000 miles away. Full of joyful anticipation, we are looking forward to a lifetime of glorifying Him through our marriage! Alyssa's favorite things about Lucas are his love for God, his loyalty to his friends and family, his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his athletic prowess. Lucas's favorite things about Alyssa are her love for Jesus and her willingness to follow His commands, her radiant beauty, her smile that can light up a room, and her quick wittiness to match his own.

Our dress code is semi-formal. For our garden party wedding, we have a beautiful outdoor venue with a covered reception, but it may get chilly as evening goes on in April in Washington. Please be prepared for cooler evening temperatures :).
Hotel
This is the hotel we recommend for out of town guests. It is about a 10 minute drive from our venue. We are working on getting a discount code for this hotel- stay tuned!
House Or Rental
There are many Airbnb options in the Yakima Valley!
Flight
There are three main airport options for flying into Washington. Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac International) is the most common option. There is a 4 hr shuttle bus (details below) that runs from SeaTac to Yakima, which Alyssa has taken often in her travels. Otherwise, there are many rental cars at SeaTac for the 2.5 hour drive to Yakima. Yakima Airport: Most flights to this airport connect in Seattle. However, for guests not wanting to travel from Seattle to Yakima by car or shuttle bus, this may be the most convenient option. Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) in Pasco, WA: We have at times found great flights into this airport! It is about a 1.5 hour drive from Yakima.
Travel Note
For guests who are flying into SeaTac and do not wish to rent a car in Seattle, this is our recommended way of traveling to Yakima. The bus runs 3-4 times throughout the day, with pay reservations required. To make a reservation, visit https://airporter.com/shuttle/schedules/yakima-to-sea-tac/. Be sure to note Eastbound (Seattle- Yakima) vs Westbound (Yakima- Seattle) travel times and days.
