March 2001, Devon and his family moved to Connecticut. We met in church during youth group. Devon saw me before I saw him. It was an embarrassing moment and he will never let me forget it. We eventually became friends, then best friends. I'm thankful for all the years we spent getting to know each other. We have an amazing foundation that will last a lifetime.

The first time Devon and I hung out (as friends) we were teenagers. We decided catch a movie at the mall. After it had ended we stepped outside to find it was dark and had begun snowing. Devon offered to walk me home, and between the snow and freezing cold we made the best of our walk home. It wasn't a date, but Devon said, it's one of his favorite memories of us. For the proposal, he wanted to re-create this moment, "the night the snow fell just right for us" and he did... February 2023 it finally snowed. He took me outside and proposed! And I said, "Yes!"
