Our story began in the Summer of 2016, during our time interning together for the DC Government. From the first time we crossed paths, there was an instant connection. We bonded over our shared interests in music, school, hobbies, and very quickly began forming a close friendship. When the summer ended, we returned to our respective universities – Alexis to Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, VA and Brandon returned to Howard University (The REAL HU!) in Washington, DC. Despite the distance, we maintained our friendship, always finding time to hangout whenever we were both in DC. It wasn’t until after college that our relationship began to evolve and by 2018, we were officially a couple. Since that time, our love has continued to grow and deepen, grounded in love, happiness, and genuine friendship. As we embark upon this new chapter, we could not be more excited than to celebrate with the people who matter most. Thank you for being a part of our lives and sharing our joy on this special occasion. -Alexis and Brandon

Maid of Honor
As my best friend of 15 years, choosing Kemi as my Maid of Honor was an easy choice. She has been my confidant, rock, and my partner in countless adventures. From middle and high school (our teachers hated us being in the same classroom!) to college, she's been by my side. Our bond has only grown stronger over the years, with countless memories made during our girls' trips, birthday celebrations, and daily chats. I value our friendship beyond words and am honored to have Kemi by my side on this special day. I love you like a sister and thank you for sharing this day with me!
Best Man
My younger brother, and my first friend, who has been by my side since childhood. His unwavering support, loyalty, and humor have enriched my life in countless ways. I can remember us as kids just being crazy and goofy, like recording dances so we could become YouTube famous. And now I'm sitting here typing this for my wedding day. On this momentous day, I am grateful to have him by my side as my best man. I couldn't imagine embarking on this new chapter without him.
Bridesmaid
As best friends for 15 years, choosing Simrin as my bridesmaid was a heartfelt decision! We journeyed through middle, high school and college together. We have many fond memories, especially during college (let's not forget how ODURent tried to kill me, you, and Kemi in that tiny apartment!). I remember when we would watch YouTube videos and laugh for hours and our trips to the dining hall where we would talk about everything! We have a special bond that I will always cherish. Love you, Sim! Your presence as my bridesmaid fills my heart with joy. Thank you for being a part of this important day.
Groomsman
My older brother, a constant presence in my life since birth. He is incredibly caring, supportive, and genuine. I have many fond memories with him, including us simply spending time making songs together for fun. Beyond being a brother, he has bestowed upon me the cherished title of uncle to my niece and nephew. With his infectious laughter and adventurous spirit, he brings joy to every moment. As I step into this new chapter, I am thankful to have him as one of my groomsmen. I couldn't imagine this day without him by my side.
Bridesmaid
Chanel, my younger sister who holds a special place in my heart and I am happy to call her a bridesmaid on my wedding day. Our bond transcends our five-year age gap, as we've shared countless cherished memories and supported each other through the years. From childhood adventures to growing up together, our bond has only strengthened. We went from playing outside to now, conversations about life and happy hour drinks! I am proud of your accomplishments and to watch you grow into a beautiful young woman. Love you sis. I'm grateful to have you by my side on this important day!
Groomsman
One of my oldest friends since our high school days. His unwavering support and camaraderie have been a constant in my life. From breaking out of my shell to dancing at our school's talent show, he's been there through it all. His loyalty and genuine nature have enriched my life in countless ways, forging a bond akin to brothers. As I step into marriage, I am honored to have him by my side as one of my groomsmen.
Bridesmaid
Cayla, my favorite younger cousin! She has been a big part of my life since childhood. I can literally remember when she was born! Sometimes, I can still see my little cousin that loved Finding Nemo and Monster's Inc. As the younger cousins, we were always close. I value our shared summers at Gabriel Lane, riding around with grandma and playing on the PlayStation. I have so many fond memories with Cayla, and always envisioned her having an important role in my wedding and the perfect addition to my bridal party. Love you, Cuz. Your presence on this day brings me joy.
Groomsman
My oldest friend since middle school. He's always smiling, laughing, joking, and goes out of his way to make people laugh. Our shared experiences in cross country and track, where he continually encouraged and pushed me, are cherished memories, even though I couldn't run as fast as him! He is another close friend that I consider like a brother. On this special day, I am glad to include him as my groomsman, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Bridesmaid
I'm thrilled to have Marquise, one of my wonderful older cousins, as one of my bridesmaids. I recall spending summers at grandma's house with Marquise and doing all of the fun activities that cousins do. I can recall Marquise always dancing. She would move the furniture around and make room to dance for hours. Then, we would finish the night in the den watching tv. I've always admired her tenacity and outspokenness. She is someone we go to for advice, because she will give it to you with full honesty! Love you, Cuz and I'm grateful for your presence in my life and for sharing this special moment with me!
Groomsman
My uncle Mtume, the one and only! He's been there for me since birth and has always been a father figure to me. He's always teaching me, guiding me, and being a good example of how to be a strong black man. His guidance has helped shape me into the person I am today. Despite his tough exterior, he possesses a genuine kindness and unwavering support for his family. I've always admired and looked up to him, making it fitting to have him as one of my groomsmen on this special day.
Bridesmaid
Another one of my amazing older cousins! She is incredibly grounded, hardworking, and always the first to provide her family with unwavering support. Kristle is always rallying our family together for family vacation and planned one of our best trips to Myrtle Beach some years ago (Kristle, please plan another trip!). I’ve always admired her positive energy and beautiful spirit. Kristle is also known for her nurturing nature; I'm told that as a baby, she was the first to offer comfort whenever I cried. She’s been a constant presence in my life. Love you, Cuz and thank you for being part of this memorable day!
Groomsman
My AKPsi pledge brother! He is one of the people that I am closest to from college. Our bond was formed through shared struggles, and Nkosi knows exactly what I mean. I'll never forget the music piece he wrote for me on my birthday—it meant the world. He's my go-to for talks about investing, stocks, and other important life subjects. My main man, I couldn't picture this day without you.
Mother and Stepfather of the Bride
To the best mother in the world, words cannot express my gratitude, but know that I am endlessly thankful for you. You've been my rock, my guiding light, and my support system throughout my life. You've always made sure Marcus and I never lacked for anything, sacrificing so much to ensure our happiness and well-being. Your wisdom, guidance, and endless love have shaped me into the woman I am today. Your love and support have been a source of strength for me, even when I tested your patience. Thank you, Mom, for being the extraordinary woman you are and blessing my life with your unconditional love. I love you and words could never do justice the depth of my gratitude. To Ernest, when you walked into our lives, I saw the light beam within my mom's eyes again. Your presence has brought her and our family immense happiness, and for that, I am truly grateful. I cherish the bond we've created over the years, whether sharing laughter while watching movies or our endless talks about the world around us. We are fortunate to have you in our lives. Thank you for your continuous love, support, guidance and wisdom. I love you and I'm excited to see both your smiling faces on my wedding day!
Mother of the Groom
My amazing, beautiful mother, that has held it down for the past 28+ years! You are my rock, my guiding light. I am who I am, because of YOU! Your strength, courage, and boundless love shaped who I am today. Thank you for your unwavering support and endless sacrifices. I value our relationship, down to our many inside jokes, our daily calls, and good morning texts. Words cannot express how much I love and appreciate you. You've played an integral role in shaping me into the man I am today, prepared to stand proudly on my wedding day.
Father of the Bride
My lively father, Ronnie! He is known for proudly flaunting his "outlaw" status and his love for Tupac. Thank you, dad, for always supporting me and my dreams. I'm incredibly grateful to have you in my life. You’ve always been there and supported me with unconditional love. You’ve taught me a lot and I have so many fond memories of trips to the park, the swimming pool, the beach and many other fun times. As I've grown, our time together evolved into long conversations about life. We share a special bond and memories that I will always cherish. Your parenting has helped shaped me into the woman I am today! Thanks for showing me how to be an Outlaw (O4L). Dad, I love you, and I'm excited to have you walk me down the aisle!
Father and Stepmother of the Groom
Dad, the other piece of the puzzle that brought me into this world! Thank you for being a positive role model and supportive father. Even as your son, I've had the privilege of witnessing your journey to become the remarkable man you are today. I value our shared bond over fragrances/colognes and I love our conversations down to hearing your adventurous stories and life experiences. I am thankful for the great father I have in my life and all of our shared memories. Thank you for your role in shaping me into the man I am today. And to Melissa, thank you for loving me as your own! You've been a constant source of support and love ever since we met, and I will always cherish that. I'm blessed to have you in my life and to be a part of our extended family!

We spent many days shopping at Potomac Mills. Everyone knows Cheesecake Factory is Alexis' personal favorite restaurant! This is one of the largest malls on the East Coast.
An amazing museum full of a ton of our history! We've gone here multiple times as a fun day out full of learning.
DC holds a special place in our heart! One of our first dates was at the national mall! There's no address. If you metro in, take the Smithsonian Station stop. It isn't too far from the National Museum of African American History and Culture!
This is another mall that we spent many dates at! They have almost any store you can think of here.
