Overnight Options

For those planning to stay overnight, there are many great options in South Lake Tahoe, especially along I-50 near Ski Run Blvd and near Heavenly Village/Stateline. There are also many great AirBnB and cabin-style rentals in the area.

Hilton Vacation Club Lake Tahoe Resort South

This Hilton Vacation Club is *right* across the street from the venue's aerial tram and so is the most convenient for getting to and from the venue. It is about a 5 minute drive from the main street in South Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Village. Update: Unfortunately we’ve heard this hotel is already booked out, but it’s a great location reference next to the venue’s tram pick up.

Zalanta Resort

For those planning a longer weekend in Tahoe (and a little bit of a splurge) - The Zalanta is a Vail Resorts owned hotel and you can use our wedding discount code for a discounted rate. The resort is located near the Heavenly Village, about a 10 minute drive from the venue's aerial tram base. Rooms here are condo style with a kitchen and living area, and there is an also a 3 night minimum for bookings. If this hotel’s not right for you, check out others near it! It’s located in Heavenly Village next door to multiple other hotels, restaurants, shops, and the resort village.

Flight

Reno-Tahoe (RNO)

Reno-Tahoe Airport (RNO) is a little over 1 hour drive to South Lake Tahoe and is the closest major airport. If you are flying, we suggest flying into RNO, especially if you don't plan to spend time outside of the Tahoe area before or after the wedding.

Sacramento (SMF)

Sacramento International Airport is the second closest major airport and is about a 2 hour drive to South Lake Tahoe. This is a good airport to fly into if there are direct flights and you don’t plan to spend extra time on the Nevada side in Reno outside of the wedding events.

San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK)

San Francisco Bay Area is about a 4 hour drive to South Lake Tahoe and has two major airports, San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK). You’ll likely find more direct flight options to SFO or OAK than to Reno, and is a great option if you want to extend the weekend and visit Northern California or San Francisco. OAK is slightly shorter drive to Tahoe.

Driving to South Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is located within the Sierra Nevada Mountains and driving from Reno, Sacramento, or Bay Area will include a windy route up through the mountains on Interstate I-80. The weather should be great in September but keep this in mind in case you are sensitive to motion sickness (like Charlotte).
