Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Charlotte Chan and Alex Capello

WELCOME TO LAKE TAHOE

The lake is the largest alpine lake in North America - 22 miles long and 12 miles wide. Lake Tahoe's most scenic spots include Sand Harbor State Park, with a white sand beach, boat ramp, kayak & SUP rentals, and extraordinary rock formations (tip-this is a very popular spot for locals and tourists, so get there early) and Emerald Bay State Park - A must-see view of Lake Tahoe located in the southwest corner of Lake Tahoe with hiking, kayaking, a beach, and waterfalls to explore. See below for more suggestions located in South Lake Tahoe!

Hiking

Cascade Falls Trail - a 1.4 mile, moderate out and back trail in South Lake Tahoe with lake views, a 255-foot elevation gain, and of course, a waterfall. This trail is family-friendly. Eagle Lake Trail - a 1.9 mile, moderate out and back trail in South Lake Tahoe with a 459-foot elevation gain that leads you past waterfalls, creeks, lakes, granite peaks, and some of the Lake Tahoe Basin’s best views. Skyline Trail - a unique hike that starts with a ride on the Heavenly Ski Resort Gondola, which takes you to the start of the 2-mile Skyline trail, as well as many other trails you can explore. With little elevation gain on foot (you scale most of it on the gondola ride), this is a great option for all hiking skill levels.

Lake and Water Activities

Tahoe South is filled with beaches for your every mood. Each boasts different panoramas, personalities, and even sun exposure (beaches on the western side of the lake see more early morning sun, and those on the east side are ideal for catching the sunset). Some, like Kiva Beach and Nevada Beach, are dog friendly. Others, like Emerald Bay State Park, offer boat camping and you-can’t-find-anywhere-else views of Fannette Island and the Vikingsholm Estate. And if you’re looking for something more exhilarating, like access to boating and parasailing, you’ll find that, too. Other options for water fun include renting a boat with Tahoe Sailing Charters and enjoying a Zephyr Cove Charter Cruise for a relaxing Lake Tahoe experience.

Shopping and more!

In a single stop to Heavenly Village, you can shop till you nearly drop. With over 40 shops, anything Tahoe you seek can be found here. Village Shopping Center will host the closest grocery store (Raley's) as well as a FedEx Office, Ace Hardware, and Tahoe Sports. For more recommendations (Golf, Spas, Casinos, Nightlife, etc.) visit Tahoe South (tahoesouth.com) for suggestions!
