Yes! Constructed in 1929 by the Skansie Brothers, the Skansonia ferried cars and passengers between Vashon Island and Ruston for decades, before finding her permanent docking place on Seattle's Lake Union and beginning her new career in event hosting. The boat is ADA accessible on the first floor, with a wide ramp leading from the dock to the main deck where the ceremony and reception will take place. An ADA accessible bathroom is also located on the first floor. If you are worried about your sea legs, rest assured that the boat is permanently moored and on stilts, keeping her steady.
Please RSVP at your earliest convenience! We must finalize our headcount and seating charts by September 1st.

Here’s a good guide to eating around the University District. https://seattle.eater.com/maps/where-to-eat-u-district-university-of-washington-seattle
Train
If you are flying in from SeaTac International Airport, feel free to take "the 1 line," which will zip you from the airport and under downtown to the "U District" station one block away from the Graduate hotel. One-way adult fares range from $2.25 to $3.50. Just make sure you don't get off at the confusingly named "University Street" or "University of Washington" stops.
Travel Note
If you don’t want to take the train, we'd advise using the "Uber" or "Lyft" rideshare services, or calling a Seattle Yellow Cab taxi.
Hotel
We have arranged a hotel block at the Graduate Hotel in Seattle, Wash for the dates 10/11-10/13. To receive the $199(plus taxes) group rate, please mention you are apart of “The Strom Wedding”. The reservation deadline for the discounted group rate is 09/11/2024. If the host room block is full, we recommend the Staybridge Suites in Fremont, University Inn- Staypineapple Hotel in U District, or the Silver Cloud Hotel in U District.
Travel Note
The hotel is about a mile away from the wedding venue, so you may want to use a rideshare or taxi unless you're up for a long walk.
This unique park, with its iconic views of downtown Seattle across Lake Union, gets its name from the coal gasification plant left largely intact on the property. It's a half-mile from the wedding venue along Northlake Way, which has a paved pedestrian and bike path.
The U District Farmer’s Market is open on Saturdays year round from 9am-2pm. It takes place on University Way NE (the "Ave") between 50th & 52nd. It’s about a five minute walk from the hotel. Feel free to pick up some fresh fruit from a local stand, croissant from the French Guys or a sausage breakfast sandwich from the Nature’s Last Stand stall.
One of the few Native-owned restaurants in the city, this café is located in the Burke Museum. We recommend trying a savory Indian taco, bison wild rice bowl, or a sweet frybread dessert.
Located in the shadow of the Space Needle, this fascinating glass sculpture museum was the site of our fifth date. FYI-tickets are a little expensive.
You don't need a library card to take in the views from the top floor of this architectural wonder. If you have time, check out the Red Room (located on the fourth floor).
This one's pretty self-explanatory.
It’s always bratwurst summer here. It’s also a couple blocks away from the host hotel.
The University of Washington is consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. Aimee attended UW for undergraduate and graduate school. The top floor of the Suzzallo library is often called the Harry Potter room. Go up the white stairs and you’ll be in Hogwarts.
Extremely good Thai food, highly recommend. Just a couple blocks from the hotel. But FYI, it is cash only.
This is a fun secondhand bookstore in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. They have a couple kitties who live inside the bookstore. Zack enjoys visiting them.
Walk across these century-old canal locks and witness the lowering and raising of barges, tugboats, fishing vessels and yachts.
Enjoy a "boot" of Pilsner and a bratwurst at this traditional Bohemian beer hall.
