Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held the night before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage.

White Indian outfit
Members of the family take turns placing a small amount of Haldi (turmeric) on the Bride and Groom offering their blessings while also cleansing the couple simultaneously. It is customary in certain parts of India for the couple to apply a small portion of the Haldi (turmeric) paste onto their unmarried friends and siblings in jest.

Note that this is a non-alcoholic event. This celebration includes dances performed by relatives and friends of the Bride and Groom, songs by the elder female members of the family sung in unison with the bride as the focal point, and an open dance floor to commemorate the festivities for the following days. The event will also involve the bride and groom exchanging rings!

Baraat is an Indian wedding tradition where the groom accompanied by his family and friends dance all the way to the bride’s doorstep or wedding venue, dresses up in tradition Indian Wedding wear. In other words baraat is an indian wedding ceremony where the groom announces the world that he has come to take the bride with him.

The Wedding Ceremony unites two souls spiritually, mentally and physically. The bond of matrimony is sacred and the ceremony of marriage is conducted according to Vedic traditions. The ceremony will be conducted in the ancient Hindu language of Sanskrit and translated to English by the priest. This is followed by a short break and followed with a reception. Reception ceremony is celebrated just after the main wedding day. It is the first public appearance of the newly wed couple after their marriage.
