The Maxwell is a brand new wedding venue where modern elegance meets classic luxury. As Raleigh's newest venue we are a versatile and minimalist space for couples seeking sophisticated simplicity. We're located only six minutes away from downtown Raleigh's best hotels and amenities. The Maxwell was thoughtfully designed to allow for the best possible flow for a wedding. With multiple spaces for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception the venue perfectly houses all parts of your celebration. The romantic atmosphere is enhanced by copper gas lanterns, a 15' fireplace, herringbone oak wood accent wall, white washed brick, abundant natural light, oversized chandeliers, and soaring 18' ceilings. The venue's old world charm and modern designs create an inviting space with unlimited possibilities for your day. The Maxwell is proud to be an LGBTQ Friendly venue.

A charming outdoor space designed to feel like a Southern Estate and garden

Guests can enjoy fresh air from the comfort of our outdoor patio and lawn. Take advantage of our lawn for ceremonies and photos. The warm glow from our French Quarter gas lanterns adds a touch of Southern charm, making this area our favorite place to sip on a cocktail! Complete with market lights this serene space has a multitude of uses. The property is very secluded and surrounded by lush greenery, creating the perfect backdrop for your day.

From consultation to the wedding, The Maxwell was everything we could have dreamed of for our wedding. The staff's communication was always clear and timely. Questions were quickly answered and the information they give you upon booking is really everything you need-it's well laid out. Day of couldn't have gone better! The staff there in the morning and during the wedding were fantastic. The bartenders were truly great and our guests loved them so much. They were quick with making drinks and great with conversation. The Bridal Suite is beyond beautiful! A private bathroom stocked with anything you may need! And hair and make up can come right in and set up. I had several people and out and throughout the day and it never felt cluttered. They provide drinks for us while getting ready and really met all our needs. The preferred vendor list is also super helpful! We did not have to do much searching and the people are there really work well with the venue. Our special day was perfect!

The Maxwell Ralleigh is a gorgeous wedding venue near downtown Raleigh. I love their timeless setting combining modern elegance and classic luxury. There are so much you can do in this beautiful space. The fireplace is a showstopper!! I am beyond excited to see what couples will create to make their wedding unique and unforgettable, and of course I cannot wait to photograph it all. Chelsea, one of the owners, is very professional, kind and a pleasure to work with. Couples will have the best team to assist them in such a special time of their lives.

The Maxwell offers ample parking on site for even the largest events! Shuttle buses and limousines may park on site during events as well. Being only a 4 mile ride from Downtown, we encourage guests to use Uber, Lyft or another taxi service.

We offer a list of exclusive caterers for you to choose from allowing you to create a menu specific to your preferences and budget. All caterers must be on our exclusive list. The Maxwell has an on-site warming kitchen with parking in the back of the building for trucks and utility vehicles. Drop and go catering is not permitted for weddings.

The Maxwell holds an ABC liquor permit prior to opening and therefore all alcoholic beverages must be purchased through The Maxwell as well as handled and served exclusively by The Maxwell bar staff. We offer a variety of packages and options to best fit your needs.

We understand there is much to be done that day! In order to allow ample time for set up, access to the venue is given at 11:00am. We have a large dressing suite available and included in our rental rate for you to get ready in. Depending on our event schedule, access the day prior may not be available.

You can absolutely hold a ceremony on site! We have a number of stunning indoor and outdoor settings for your ceremony. We do not charge an additional ceremony fee, however, please note that in order to keep our chairs clean and in great shape for all events, our chairs may not be used outdoors. For ceremony rehearsals, you'll have access the day prior depending on our event schedule.
