Our stunning 1890s Victorian mansion makes the perfect backdrop for any elegant affair. From a hand-carved wood grand staircase in the foyer to the alluring ceiling murals, our 16,000 square foot home offers delicate details inside and out. Our wrought-iron fence surrounding the property and iconic front doors are wedding photo must-haves. Complete with antique furnishings, the Indianapolis Propylaeum is perfect for couples looking for a timeless, elegant estate just minutes from downtown Indy. Our venue has varied spaces for ceremonies & receptions to accommodate everything from a small elopement to a 120-person gathering. The front parlors of the mansion are perfect for small ceremonies, while the carriage house can hold larger indoor weddings & a dance floor. Our elevated porch overlooks an expansive lawn, ideal for outdoor soirees with room for tented parties. With flexible access, couples can customize each element of their wedding, allowing each wedding to be unlike the last.

Northeast Room

The daughter of the second family to live in this home, Alice Schaf, greeted her wedding guests in this formal reception room back in the early 1900s.

The Northeast Room is the perfect room for small wedding ceremonies, holding up 40 seated guests. For our larger weddings, this room is the perfect location to set-up a bar during the reception.

The Propylaeum is happy to partner with Jacquie's Gourmet Catering for all weddings. Jacquie's will work directly with couples on menu options and pricing. We can accommodate plated meals, buffet-style, cocktail receptions, and family style options. The Propylaeum handles all alcoholic beverage packages, including the staffing of bartenders, and we have options for beer, wine, and liquor bars.

Yes! We only allow one wedding per day at the Propylaeum in an effort to not only provide you with our full attention, but to allow full access of the property to each wedding. We want you and your guests to feel as if the mansion is your own home while you're with us, and allowing weddings to have exclusive use of our property during their special day is one way we can ensure that.

Absolutely, and we encourage wedding parties to consider staying the night before and/or the night of to allow enough time to get settled into the space and feel more comfortable. Our overnight package includes all six bedrooms, early access to begin decorating, and breakfast the next morning.

Yes, the first floor of our mansion is handicap accessible with a ramp leading into the mansion. We are also able to set-up a ramp leading into the Carriage House if needed.

We have an on-site parking lot with 45 spots available to guests, as well as free street parking along Delaware and 14th streets.

No, all alcohol consumed at our venue must be served by a licensed bartender.
