About this venue

From the day you tour our wedding reception area down to the last wedding dance of the night, our staff will be with you every step of the way. The DEC is focused on making sure that your wedding planning is perfect, and no small detail is forgotten. Your personal Event Manager will help plan the wedding of your dreams and will work with you to coordinate all the details behind the scenes, so your wedding celebration runs smoothly. The Aberdeen, SD event complex features elegant DECor that is sure to go with any theme and wedding colors you have chosen for your special day. Our convenient location allows for your wedding guests to stay on-site at one of our two hotels and dine at the award winning Maverick’s Steak and Cocktails. We are with-in walking distance to Target, Walmart, the Aberdeen Mall, and numerous banks, coffee shops, restaurants, and retail shopping options. Your out of town guests will enjoy being just five minutes from the Aberdeen Regional Airport.

Dakota Event Center

Host A Wedding at the DEC

• Dakota Room: The largest single room in the facility with 6,016 square feet. Double door entry and an opaque glass and wooden panel that can also be opened into the pre-function area. • Gold Rush: Situated in the middle of the event center, this room is 2,656 square feet. Double door entry and an opaque glass and wooden panel that can also be opened into the pre-function area. • Missouri River Room – Ringneck Room: Located on the north end of the pre-function area, each room is 720 square feet and spans a little more than half the length of each of the larger rooms. • Rushmore Room – James River Room: Located along the north hallway of the complex, each room has 704 square feet of space. • Pre-Function Area: Our pre-function space is decorated with an elegant touch; with soft seating areas throughout and large open windows to allow for natural light. • Outdoor Patio Space: Tucked in between the hotels is a quaint bricked patio area featuring an outdoor seating area and two gas fireplaces.
