Located on three private acres overlooking the American River Canyon, our secluded property is the perfect setting to celebrate, escape, and create priceless memories that will last a lifetime. Featuring a luxury interior and breathtaking views, we provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding weekend. A stunning private venue, Mountain Shadows offers you and your loved ones a chance to unwind, connect, and experience inspiration in nature. All events are custom-tailored to meet your specific goals and desires; if you can dream it, we can make it happen. All wedding packages include hosting 15-26 guests on-site and up to 50 additional guests at Miner's Camp, our sister property that is located within walking distance. Shadow's groups eat whatever they want, drink whatever they want, and host their friends and family however they want. Shadow's does not do food, beverage, or rentals. It's all about spending quality time with friends and family. NOT the in and out experience. The Anti Venue experience.

Serendipity
Mountain Shadows Retreat (The Anti-Venue) seems to be the perfect wedding venue for us. From our first inquiry, the team was prompt and friendly in their communication, making the planning process a breeze. While viewing the property before booking, it felt both homey and elegant, with an open and spacious layout that will allow our guests to mingle comfortably. The natural decor and beautiful mountain views creates a truly serene and intimate atmosphere. We can’t wait for our 4 day wedding!
A Beautiful Venue and Spot for Your Event
Mountain Shadows is an incredible spot for any type of event - wedding, family/friends party, corporate gathering, the list goes on! We loved visiting the mountains, experiencing the fresh air, and having the whole property to ourselves. Booking was easy and the whole process was smooth. Would definitely recommend for your next event to really make it your own and bring your vision to life!!

Mountain Shadows Retreat (The Anti-Venue) has been an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! From the moment we reached out, their team was incredibly responsive, friendly, and easy to talk to. Unlike any other venue I've been to, the Mountain Shadows team went above and beyond to ensure our special day will be perfect. We get married in 2025 and they are very flexible with us visiting the venue beforehand to ensure we were ready to go by wedding day. The team is a true pleasure to work with, and we can't wait to celebrate our marriage at this one-of-a-kind venue next year. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a unique and personalized wedding experience!
The Anti-Venue of Gold Country
Mountain Shadows has been absolutely incredible to work with. They were very responsive with our initial inquiry and got us in to your where all of our questions were answered. Over the months we visited and even stayed on site when they weren’t booked out. Both the owner Brian and property manager Scena were so helpful through every step. We were looking for a venue where we could spend a few days with friends and family and Mountain Shadows really is a one in a million venue. Could not recommend more.
