Located on three private acres overlooking the American River Canyon, our secluded property is the perfect setting to celebrate, escape, and create priceless memories that will last a lifetime. Featuring a luxury interior and breathtaking views, we provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding weekend. A stunning private venue, Mountain Shadows offers you and your loved ones a chance to unwind, connect, and experience inspiration in nature. All events are custom-tailored to meet your specific goals and desires; if you can dream it, we can make it happen. All wedding packages include hosting 15-26 guests on-site and up to 50 additional guests at Miner's Camp, our sister property that is located within walking distance. The "ANTI-VENUE" Mountain Shadows does not have packages or menus like traditional locations. ASK US ABOUT 2-NIGHT MID-WEEK MICROS. Shadows is a 3-4 night Experience. Shadow's groups eat whatever they want, drink whatever they want, and host their friends and family however they want. Shadow's does not do food, beverage, or rentals. It's all about spending quality time with friends and family. NOT the in and out experience. The Anti Venue experience.

MENU: EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT

Shadow's does not do food, beverage, or rentals. The groups that come to Shadows want what they want. Food and beverage is a big part of the Shadow's experience. Our guests have done food trucks to (5) course plated meals. Rehearsal dinners, celebrations, brunches are all options while on the property. You are hosting your own event so are groups decide what they eat and drink. Remember, the hardest part of planning a wedding is not food, bev, and rentals. Its babysitting your family:)

      Mountain Shadows Retreat (The Anti-Venue) provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding day. From the moment we first reached out, the staff was prompt, professional, and incredibly helpful in making our vision a reality. The natural setting and stunning views were beyond our expectations - the gorgeous outdoor space truly felt like an oasis. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our special day ran smoothly, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. We give Mountain Shadows Retreat a 10 out of 10 and would absolutely book there again in a heartbeat.       From the moment we first reached out to Mountain Shadows Retreat, their team was incredibly communicative and responsive. Scena, the property manager, was a joy to work with and made the entire planning process seamless. She was incredibly flexible, allowing us to visit the venue multiple times and work through all the details. On the day of our wedding, Scena's coordination was flawless - she made sure everything ran smoothly so we could simply enjoy the moment. The venue itself is truly one-of-a-kind, and the quality of their work is 10000/10. We cannot recommend Mountain Shadows Retreat highly enough for any couple looking for a truly personal wedding experience with a view you just can't beat. We wanted to make our day very personal to us with the decor, food, etc. and shadows allows you to plan your wedding the exact way you want it..we brought in an ice cream food truck!

      Mountain Shadows Retreat isn't JUST a wedding/event venue. It's an experience. As a wedding vendor, couples often tell us that their number one priority for their wedding day is their and their guests' experience. Mountain Shadows provides just that -- a unique experience where couples and their guests get to celebrate and relax while enjoying each other's company (not just for a 10-12 hour day like normal venues, but an extended weekend). This is what truly makes Shadows special. The accommodations are not only amazing and top notch, but thoughtful as well. There are several spaces to hold your event and each space offers a breathtaking view of nature. As guests, you truly feel like Shadows is your home away from home.
