Basil Place is a farm and wedding venue on a private, 100 acre estate. We prioritizes sustainability, permaculture, and ethical treatment to not only our farm animals, but all animals residing on our property.

    10/10. 5-stars. Michelle and the family are absolutely the best. We got married at Basil Place on May 25, 2024 and it was the most fun day of our lives. We were able to stay overnight at Basil with our wedding party which made it an even better decision. Plus, getting to bring our stuff from home earlier in the week was such a stress reliever. If you’re looking for a wedding venue…you really can’t go wrong.

    I cannot recommend Basil Place enough. I have had the pleasure of working with them since September 2nd 2022 and our wedding was this past weekend. I have gotten to know Michelle over the last two years and she has truly become family. She gave me her personal cell phone number to be able to call her whenever I needed to. She always answered emails and phone calls in a timely fashion. The venue itself is so beautiful and such a great place for anyone who wants to have all of their wedding celebrations in one place. It is clean, modern, and very well-kept. Every time I was there people would be working on the yard, etc. This is a very large property but they do a phenomenal job keeping up with it and making it beautiful all year round. Michelle was so helpful during wedding week and let me come and go as I pleased, even when there were other weddings (but making sure to respect the other weddings going on). We did a lot of game planning together and again, I truly feel like she's family at the end of this process. I really wanted to work with someone personable and made it feel like home and that's exactly what it was. The food (through taste of excellence) was fantastic which is their required vendor. On our wedding day, it literally rained all day. Michelle knew how much I wanted an outdoor wedding on their beautiful property and when it was go time for the ceremony, she was literally outside with a leaf blower trying to dry the chairs for us. She told us "we are going to make this happen for you I promise." And it sure did. Because of the staff there, we had the wedding of our dreams. We ran out of vodka pretty early in the night and Michelle went to the store and got us some. I really don't know of any other venue that would do this. I am so sad my time with Michelle and Basil Place is over because it was an unbelievable experience. I would recommend them to anyone in the world.

    We recently celebrated our wedding at Basil Place, and it was nothing short of magical! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, with the stunning pond and foliage and elegant indoor spaces that created the perfect ambiance for our special day. What truly made Basil Place wonderful was the owner, Michelle. She was always there to answer questions and provide recommendations for other vendors. Her warmth and generosity made us feel special. Thanks to Michelle and the beautiful setting of Basil Place, our wedding was a dream come true.     I cannot begin to describe how happy we are that we booked Basil Place for our wedding. I planned our Cleveland wedding from out-of-state, and Michelle from the get-go was so flexible in setting up tours for my family and fiancé when we got into town. First, I'll speak about the venue itself: it is absolutely the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The whole farm is surrounded by beautiful nature, trees, and ponds, and rolling pastures. We were able to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony, get ready in the carriage house, and use the manor house for pictures, hanging out, and pre-wedding snacks. Our reception was in the barn, which is so gorgeous and opens up onto a patio with views of rolling fields and reflecting ponds (which are stocked with bass if you feel like fishing like some of our guests did!) There was so much space for our reception we were able to set up cornhole and spikeball outside the barn which made for such a fun evening. Our guest loved taking pictures all around the property. I cannot say enough good things about how perfect this venue was for our wedding! I also have to mention how absolutely wonderful and above and beyond Michelle and her staff were throughout every step of the wedding process. Michelle truly feels like family to us. She made the process so easy and was so accommodating to all of our requests. She checked on us so many times leading up to and the day of the wedding- we truly felt so taken care of It is so apparent that this is not just a business to her, but truly her passion. Their preferred caterer, A Taste Of Excellence, was hands-down the best experience with a caterer we've ever had. Mikaela was so kind and flexible, and the food was absolutely to die for we were so impressed with them that we had them cater our welcome dinner as well. They do so many weddings at basil place that they are very familiar with set up and where to go, which makes for that much smoother of a day. All the catering staff were so kind and friendly and added to the positive atmosphere. In summary, if we could go back in time, we would choose Basil Place 100 times over!!
