Just spare yourself
I am so incredibly disappointed with the services we received. We hired Megan straight out the gate from our engagement over a year ago. We understood that it was incredibly early and there wasn’t much to do yet. Megan was at first responsive and seemed to know her stuff. We didn’t talk *too* much because I figured at around a year out, we’d really kick things into gear with planning. Essentially, I ended up having to get in touch with her about pretty much EVERYTHING. She did find us two vendors, attend two meet ups and do our save the dates, but we had to initiate convo every time and it was a gamble of how long she would go without replying. When I did bring up a concern about a lack of response, she stated that we should not email, and that we should only text/call or use her portal. I don’t really understand why email is so hard to check, but fine. We moved forward although we were weary, and guess what? The same thing. The last time I spoke with her, she was looking into finding us a DJ and it had been over a MONTH since we last heard from her. We tried calling, texting, emailing, whatever we could do, and she refused to respond. Even after sending her cancellations, she didn’t reply! We’re now 7 months out and having to do ALL of this by ourselves. We are parents who work opposite schedules with a special needs child and my fiance has more than one job. This was supposed to be taking a load off of us and actually became our biggest burden. I’d like to think that we are incredibly understanding people, so if she was going thru something or decided to end her business, she could have been upfront with us and we would have understood. Instead, this lack of communication feels like we got scammed and I hope no other bride comes across her services and makes the same mistake we did.
I’ve seen what I needed to see
Megan was extremely disconnected from the bride the entire process. About 2 weeks before the 30 day period, the bride just had a few simple questions to ask Megan so that she could relay to other vendors and Megan continued to ignore her calls, texts, and emails. The day of, not only was her attitude poor, she was completely disorganized. We (the bride tribe) did everything from instructing guests on where to go, blocking them from seeing the bride (bc she was allowing them up during first look), some set up, tear down etc. Megan was supposed to place the veil on the bride before she walked down the aisle… she didn’t, and she was discussing rumors about the bride TO THE GROOM, seconds before he walked down the aisle. Close to the end of the reception, she had not completed her tasks and was complaining to the bride about the amount of hours she worked that day. The bride was so upset from the entire experience that she needed to remove herself. All in all I would say Megan lacks communication skills, professionalism, and organization, and I would not recommend her services.
Complete disappointment
If I could leave less than one star, I would. My experience with Megan was 100% the most stressful part of my wedding. Her communication, or lack thereof, was completely unacceptable and she did not correctly fulfill ANY of the responsibilities she was hired to do. She ghosted me for an entire month, dodging all of my attempts at communication. Only when I asked for a refund, did she answer the phone. She lied to me about communicating with my vendors, who later confirmed that they had not received a single email regarding the logistics of my event. Every interaction with her before the wedding should have been a red flag and her performance on the day was no different. Just one example of her incompetence on the wedding day- she assured my bridesmaids that she would place my veil on me before I walked down the aisle and of course forgot it. My biggest concern was the breakdown of the decor. I made that clear from the moment I booked her services. Megan assured me that she and her assistant would be able to handle this, so that my guests could enjoy the wedding. Fast forward to halfway through the reception, nothing had been put up and Megan is telling me it is time for her to leave. My bridesmaids and guests did the bulk of the work and missed the end of the reception. There were just continuous miscommunications and flat out lies the entire process. All of the previous reviews were very validating and accurately described by own experience. I highly recommend that any bride or couple looking for a wedding coordinator looks elsewhere.
Poor communication and professionalism
Megan was incredibly disorganized and as a maid of honor, I was extremely disappointed in the way she conducted herself and lack of communication. When we arrived at the venue for photos, there was such confusion- in which she proceeded to laugh stating she never sent her message for directions for the bride. She also let people come up to the ceremony space while the bride and groom were taking first look and family photos. Her lack of communication with her assistant and guests, led the bridal party telling guests they needed leave. Lastly, she did not prioritize her time properly which resulted in myself and several wedding guests taking down and packing most of the decor from the wedding, which was clearly discussed as apart of her duties. Megan added immense stress to an already emotional day. I would not recommend her services and again, was overall highly disappointed in her services day of.
