Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve been photographing weddings for about ten years now (holy cow, do I feel old!), starting with photographing friends' weddings and quickly falling in love with the work. While I adore capturing gorgeous portraits of the bride and groom and the quiet (and sometimes chaotic!), beautiful moments during a wedding/elopement/engagement session, those ridiculous candid moments (like when a stranger offers you a fry on the boardwalk during your bridesmaid photos) truly make your day uniquely yours. I'd absolutely describe my style as a mixture of classic, artistic and photojournalism, but my heart lies in capturing candid moments.

ART IS LIFE. I am an exhibiting artist (showing primarily mixed-media sculpture, fine art photography and needlepoint) and have exhibited widely in the states. I earned my BFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and have since earned my MFA in Studio Arts from Maine College of Art. I absolutely surround myself with art regularly, whether working in the studio, visiting museums, or checking out fellow artists' works in galleries. I think that my background in the arts gives me a unique perspective while photographing, and I truly do view each wedding, portrait or family session as a unique creation...a work of art.

Julie was so awesome for our wedding! As someone who doesn't love to have their picture taken, she made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She captured fun moments during the cocktail hour and reception and gave us a ton of amazing portraits! She sent us back out pictures so quickly, which was so fun to look back while we were still riding that wedding weekend high. We are so happy with how our photos turned out!

Working with Julie was great! She was always quick to respond to our questions and gave us plenty of information. We had both our engagement photos and wedding photos with Julie and they all came out incredible. She worked with us during the photo shoots to make us feel comfortable and relaxed as we went through a range of poses/settings/backdrops. She was incredible on the day of our wedding going back and forth between the bridesmaid’s and groomsmen’s ready rooms to capture all of the preparations and then had a great detailed list of all the groupings of people to get together for photos. Julie took a mind boggling number of photos and then had them edited and sent back to us at an insane speed. She truly is wonderful to work with and will work so hard to make sure your photos capture your special day.

ulie was wonderful to work with for our wedding in Kennebunkport! Leading up to the big day, she was organized, professional, and timely with her responses to our questions. On the day of, she fit in seamlessly and helped keep everyone relaxed throughout pictures. We then received our photos quickly after the wedding and are super pleased with how they came out! Julie did an amazing job capturing the natural joy of the day and this was evident in all of the photos. I would definitely recommend Julie to anyone looking to hire a photographer in the Maine area!

We are BEYOND thrilled that we chose Julie to capture our wedding. My wife and I had a destination wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine so choosing vendors was really just based on doing our own research and combing through reviews. From start to finish, everything with Julie was incredible. She really understood what we wanted and that aligned perfectly with her vibrant and candid style.
