Pastry Chef/Cake Artist

This Little Light Bakery and Caribbean Delights was founded by Suerence Marcelle in 2019. Suerence is a self-taught pastry chef who started baking as a hobby making candy apples and chocolate treats. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Suerence expanded her baking talents to display her Caribbean roots in some of her delicacies such as black cake and Caribbean pastries. A year later Suerence expanded from treats to making pastries and designing wedding cakes. Seeing how people reacted to her flavors and work of art she knew she took the right step in her business. She prides herself in the artwork of her desserts and gourmet layered donuts.

My flavors. I enjoy playing around with exotic flavors. Suerence is dedicated to exciting people's palates and bringing different cultures together through her desserts. "My goal in my business is to share a piece of my culture with my community and to bring a taste of home a bit closer to home."

    Baker was unfortunately not the right fit for our wedding cake needs. We struggled with communication throughout the process, reaching out multiple times by email with no response. On the day of, the cake boxes were not left in the agreed upon location, causing unnecessary stress. While the cake itself tasted fine, it unfortunately did not match our vision or what was originally promised, especially for the price we paid. For other couples, I would gently caution that clear communication is key with any vendor. I wish Baker all the best in future endeavors, but could not wholeheartedly recommend based on our experience.

    Hi we agreed that your cake will only be one tiered with the same color as the cake above with no arrows. You did complain about the $150 price but for that price I can't include everything you wanted but you made sure that the golf balls were important which I included in the cake. Also I drove from ATL to Jekyll Island so the travel fee was included with cake. That I only charged $150 for maybe a little more for. The only thing missing is the "T" because it tore on the way there and I thought my text went through to you about the situation. On the other hand you received extra cupcakes and cake pops. From your complaint I can see why the other vendors complained about your expectations for the price. My apologies for not meeting your expectations.

    Sue is a very talented pastry chef. She did an immaculate job on the dessert table for our wedding. Our guests were blown away at all the flavors she had and her dessert art work.
