“How much does a wedding cake cost?”

Accepted Answer

Our Tiered Cakes are offered in two sizes: 2-tiered to serve about 25 for $160; 3-tiered to serve about 50 for $240. If you need more than 50 servings, we recommend ordering side cakes (usually held in the kitchen but pretty enough to be on display). We also have Single Tier Cakes, ranging from $65 - $85 for a tall, single cake to serve about 10-12. (Also known as a cutting cake.) We also offer a variety of other desserts, such as cookies, brownies, cupcakes, lemon bars, pies, cheesecakes, and much more for a gorgeous dessert buffet! Prices vary.

“When should I book the date?”

Accepted Answer

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit for any of our tiered cakes. If your wedding is in peak season (June through September), we recommend putting the deposit down at least 2-3 months ahead of time, or earlier if you prefer. The balance would be due one week before the pickup date. For single tier cakes, we ask for at least one week's notice, and payment in full when ordering. However, it's best to book these cakes ahead of time as well, as we can get booked for some dates.

“When do I have to pay off the balance?"

Accepted Answer

The balance of your tiered cake will be due one week before the delivery or pick-up date. Payments can be made over the phone with a card, or in person with card or cash. (We do not take checks.) Single tier cakes are paid in full at the time of order.

Question 4

“When should we have the cake set up?”

Accepted Answer

We usually set up our cakes about an hour or two before you cut into them, assuming they will be set up inside. This gives the cake a little time to come to room temperature, so it will be a little softer and more flavorful. We do not recommend setting up any cakes outside in warmer temperatures. We are happy to discuss optimal times for set up!

“Do we have to have fondant?”

Accepted Answer

We no longer offer fondant covered cakes. Our wedding buttercream offers a smooth, satiny finish, and is much tastier than fondant!

Question 6

“I’ve heard about ordering fake cakes to keep the cost down, is this a thing?”

Accepted Answer

We actually don’t create fake cakes for any clients, and here’s why: The amount of labor it takes to create a fake cake is actually just the same (if not more), and that is the bulk of the cost of a wedding cake. Re-using a fake cake causes dings and dents and other damage, and they simply don't look as beautiful as a real cake. We recommend that you order a cake you will enjoy eating!

“Do you offer cake testing?”

Accepted Answer

We do offer a sample box! The sample box includes four of our Tiered Cake Flavors, which can be found on our website. We offer egg-free/dairy-free samples, and gluten-free as well. Sample boxes are $40, paid in advance, and require at least three days' notice. Or, feel free to come into our store, and purchase anything offered in our "slice case"! (Flavors vary throughout the day and from day to day.)

"What dietary accommodations are available?"

We offer a large variety of cakes, fillings, and frostings, and many of them are available as egg/dairy-free, or gluten-free; some are offered as both. We do not offer any low sugar or sugar-free products. You can see more on our website!

Question 9

"How do I know what size to order?"

Accepted Answer

We are happy to help you figure out the best sized cake for your needs! The Single Tier Cakes will feed about 10-12, and there are two sizes for the Tiered Cakes, 25 servings and 50 servings. We also offer cakes in four sizes to help fill in any additional servings needed, as well as cupcakes, cookies, and more. We recommend ordering enough for each person to have a full serving, whether that is one piece of cake, one cupcake, or a few finger-food sized desserts like petit fours and chocolates. Keep in mind it's very thoughtful to include your staff in your guest count, such as your officiant, photographer, etc.

"Does your price include delivery?"

Accepted Answer

We offer limited delivery for the Tiered Cakes, within 10 miles for an additional $40. We do not stay to set up, it is a drop-off service only. Please call for delivery times and other questions.

Question 11

“I have a photo of the cake I like, can you do this design?”

Accepted Answer

Although we do offer several designs as shown on our website, you are welcome to send us a photo of a design you like, and we can let you know if we are able to do that for you. Our designs are kept fairly simple, to keep the costs down, and are easy to incorporate into your wedding theme with simple additions such as fresh flowers added by your florist.
