We had mutual friends and went to the same church but as fate would have it, we ended up being the only two people at what was supposed to be a big gathering. Instead of calling it a night, we chatted and played cards. Matt knew it was love then, but Lauren needed more time. Regardless of what page we were on, our friendship continued to grow over the next year.
