I started Discoboxx in 2022 to bring a more stylish and tasteful approach to weddings and events in North Carolina. When my family decided to move to Raleigh, I knew I would have the opportunity to create a new experience for clients in The Tar Heel State looking for something different. DJ Smartz was a b-boy during his time as a skating rink DJ and through battles with the crew Hypnotik Body Rock he was introduced to turntablism at the age of 17. Smartz bought his first set of turntables at the age of 19 and from there has become one of the most prominent open format DJ's in Charleston and the surrounding areas.

DJ Jazzy J first played her way onto the music scene in 2013. DJ Jazzy J surely knows how to mix it up with new and old sounds. Starting piano lessons at the age of four, Steve quickly developed a knack for music. During high school, he trained privately under the renowned NC School of the Arts music professor, Dr. Clifton Matthews. He can play with printed music, but prefers to play by ear, utilizing his unique ability to play any song he’s heard, and easily taking requests, often on the spot. Steve has performed with a variety of bands and duos along the East Coast, but likes to focus primarily on solo performances for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, dinner parties, and other elegant events.

Kaila is a Canadian singer, song writer and musician. Her style is best described as a mixed blend between “70’s disco soul and rock edge.” Her music seeks to find that perfect balance of harmonies between the fusion of old school dance (Disco, Funk, Pop, Rock) and new school music (Electro, EDM, Dance). What separates her from the rest of the pretty girls that can sing is her musical studies: Kaila studied classical and jazz theory with an emphasis on Vocal Techniques, Music Business and Live Sound Set-up.

Zoe has been studying the violin for over 20 years. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance from the College of Charleston where she studied under Charleston Symphony Concertmaster, Yuriy Bekker. She then continued her education in Arizona, receiving a Masters of Music Degree in Violin from Northern Arizona University. Zoe was recipient of the Gates-Taylor Award by the NAU School of Music and received the Mary Stewart Allen Award for Violin and Most Outstanding Music Award by the CofC School of the Arts.
