We are Desi and Tammy Mendoza, a husband-and-wife photography team that has been photographing weddings and portraits for over 9 years. We love many things, but the one thing that drew us to wedding photography is our love of people. We genuinely cherish every moment we get to spend with the people we meet. By becoming a part of the wedding day as much any member of the wedding party, we have the unique ability to capture the unplanned and raw moments, all while making you feel comfortable in your own skin. Our style can be described as natural, unforced, and moment-driven.

Our best & fastest decision for our wedding was who would take our pictures! We met Desi & Tammy while they took engagement pictures for Darrel’s cousins wedding. We ended up tagging along on the photo shoot, had so much fun, and loved all the pictures! When it came to our wedding it was a no brainer. They went above and beyond to take our engagement pictures at these sand dunes & a brewery that we’re nowhere near each other. It was windy and sand was everywhere, but they were able to make it all look so beautiful! When it came to our wedding, they were amazing! We were so nervous and they made us both so comfortable while taking pictures. I also love how Tammy takes full control over getting the right people for pictures and making sure everyone listens to photo instructions - especially for big groups! Our pictures turned out so amazing and we love them so much! Our vendors loved them too and used them for advertisements on their websites and company magazines! In all, they are sooo incredibly amazing at what they do and we’re definitely using them for all the milestones in our lives !

I love colorful, full of fun, romantic, true-to-you weddings! A little about me, Ariel! I can't live without love, beautiful in-season flowers all over my house and adventure. I've been lucky enough to photograph weddings for the past 10 years; over 200 weddings!

Ariel shot my husband and I's Long Beach art district engagement session and our Joshua Tree anniversary shoot. I wasn't lucky enough to have Ariel photograph my actual wedding, but hopefully, you will be able to swoop her up because she is a gem! The testament to a great wedding photographer isn't just that they capture beautiful photos, but that they communicate and listen to you as a couple and make you feel at ease. Ariel is incredibly professional and makes sure she understands what you want out of your images, while also bringing her expertise and experience to capture those special moments that will bring you joy. You are in safe hands with Ariel if you're not comfortable in front of the camera or are afraid of looking awkward because she takes the time to help bring out that natural smile and loosen you up. I know this because I'm a self-proclaimed adorkable person who can get super awkward in front of a camera, and Ariel has a way of gently suggesting a better angle/shot or inspiring a more natural smile. She doesn't just click a button but is looking at the photo she is capturing to ensure she is snapping a beautiful image. Ariel also doesn't heavily treat her images with dramatic filters. She just brings out the beautiful colors and light of the day. If you want simply beautiful images, Lark & Lavender is the way to go! When you hire Lark & Lavender, you're not just hiring a wedding photographer but a creative artist who has a vision for capturing every beautiful and memorable moment of your day, plus she just makes you instantly feel relaxed and at ease which is essential on what can sometimes be a very stressful day.

Marlyn A Photographs

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,300
  • Serves Mission Hills, CA

Before I Tell You Story, Here's a Little Bit About Mine...My journey as a wedding photographer began with a love for capturing the world’s beauty. What started as a passion for landscape photography evolved into a deep appreciation for documenting the intimate, heartfelt moments of a wedding day. Inspired by my own love story and the joy of welcoming our baby girl into the world, my approach to photography is about slowing down, soaking in the present moment, and truly appreciating the beauty around us. Based in Southern California, I specialize in destination weddings and luxury intimate celebrations.

Marlyn truly is more than just a photographer, she is an amazing friend! Marlyn has shot our photos both for our engagement and now our wedding. Both times, we felt so comfortable with Marlyn taking our photos. It felt more like hanging out with a friend than being in a photoshoot. She guided us and helped us every step of the way! Our wedding took place at a community plaza and I was honestly a bit worried at first if the place was "picturesque" enough for the photos. But Marlyn is so talented and she really could see the beauty in everything! We got our sneak peek gallery and we're already so in love! The photos look stunning! We truly are so thankful for her, not only because she makes us look so amazing in all our photos but we also feel like we lucked out meeting such a sweet and genuine soul!

My superpower is the way I connect with your vision. I see you guys on the best day of your lives. I see how well you two fit together, how in love you are, how perfect it all looks. And then I use my camera to make sure that’s exactly how you look in your photos. As someone who grew up *hating* all photos of me, I'm ultra aware of that for others. I still cringe a little when I think about having my photo taken, but I’ve found that it’s always easier when a friend is there to keep me laughing. My sense of humor (and obsession with bad puns) is the perfect way to break the ice for effortless, fun photos that help you feel your best!

I first fell in love with photography more than 20 years while working for my high school yearbook. After that, I pursued photography as a hobby while I studied Electrical Engineering, but in 2014 I decided that I still wanted to do something more meaningful. So started to pursue wedding photography by working for my friends company as a 2nd shooter. After gaining a lot of experience and 40 weddings later in 2015 I launched my own business and have be loving it ever since.

Brandon is a very talented photographer and videographer, comfortable to work with. He's also a very responsible person with great personality. Hire him, you won't regret!!!

I'm a photographer specializing in engagements, weddings, and boudoir. My style is colorful, bold, fun, and genuine. I'm great at capturing emotion in my photos, but my true super power is making everyone feel natural and at ease in front of the camera. Photographing people is my passion, so I work endlessly to create a positive, inclusive, effortless experience for my clients.

I had the pleasure of working with Jade on many shoots and weddings including my own! She is perceptive and professional while still being her relaxed self. She also did my most recent brand photoshoot and the photos are so incredibly vibrant and personal. She really knows how to make you stand out. I can't wait to work with her again!

I am an elopement photographer specializing in cozy elopements and tiny weddings. I am based in Southern California, but travel everywhere to capture intimate love stories and weddings days. I am a huge advocate for elopements and tiny weddings where you get to celebrate however YOU want, in a way that truly and authentically celebrates YOUR relationship and marriage.

I have nothing but great things to say about Pam Jeanne Photography. We are based in Indonesia but planned to do an elopement somewhere in Los Angeles. We reached out to Pam and scheduled a phone call to discuss and make plans. Out of our discussion with Pam, she suggested going out to Joshua Tree, which really struck a chord with us. Pam also helped us with the details, guiding us through the paperwork and permits, so that come wedding day everything would go smoothly. And smoothly it went! Pam got a lot of great photos of us in Joshua Tree, not the least of which are a lot of surprisingly delightful candid moments which are our favorites. We booked Pam for the full day and we're glad we did--we had a great time and didn't feel rushed at all, and got a lot of great photos which we will treasure forever. Thanks Pam!

Located in Los Angeles, California, Alyssa Walker Photography is an accomplished wedding photography business. They specialize in numerous photographic styles to produce striking images but specialize in the candid photojournalist style. Captured by Emily C. Petrie

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,600
  • Serves Mission Hills, CA

I am passionate about the humanity and compassion I infuse into my work and making genuine connections with the people who choose me as a Photographer, Coordinator, or Officiant. I am inspired to create images that break down societal norms and show that all kinds of people and love are valid and beautiful. My style is modern, natural, romantic, whimsical, candid, and bold.

Where do we begin with Emily!? Honestly, from start to finish she made my wife and I feel so comfortable and supported. As a same sex couple we had had a few odd experiences reaching out to photographers and with Emily it was like night and day difference. She honestly made us feel so seen, not just as a couple, but as people. My wife is definitely not used to being the center of attention and Emily somehow captured our essences in every photo. We absolutely love her candids and her ability to capture the emotions of such a special day for us. We did an engagement shoot with her before our wedding as well and we couldn't be happier with how every single photo turned out. Even almost a year later, our wedding guests still comment on how incredible our pictures came out and that they were so much better than the "traditional" posed and staged photos, because she somehow captured us. I could go on and on, but for us, Emily felt like a member of the family and we couldn't have been happier about our experience with her. She kept us on schedule and answered questions for us along the way. Honestly, we can't think of anyone who would have been a better fit for us and for our wedding. Truly the best in the business - if you're looking for a photographer, hire her immediately!

Mandee Johnson Photography

  • Serves Mission Hills, CA

I’m a Los Angeles wedding photographer. I live near the ocean with my partner Joel and our many plants. I’m from the Midwest originally, Indiana, to be exact. I've published a beautiful coffee table book about independent comedy in Los Angeles with portraits shot on my 4x5 camera, am a big ACFC fan, and love old movies on TCM. I want you to have the most fun ever on your wedding day, and I’ll be there to capture it all—the laughter, tearful vows, unforgettable moments, all the big feels, and, of course, the epic dance parties. We’ll even sprinkle in some beautiful portraits along the way. Relaxed. Candid. You.

I hired Mandee after seeing her work and falling in love with her way of beautifully capturing emotions, places and events from creative and intimate perspectives. She was a calming presence throughout the day, assuring a nervous me that I was killing it, while simultaneously taking truly stunning photos. Everything was run on time, she took all pictures on all families' lists, and there was no drama. Finally, the pictures were just gorgeous. 5 stars! Book her if you can!

Welcome! I’m Jose, a Southern California wedding & portrait photographer. It's about more than hiring someone to hold a camera and snap a few pics. Wedding photography is about carefully crafting and capturing the moments of your big day in a way that beautifully tells the story of your love. Our images have been described as candid, emotional, moody romantic, airy and timeless. My photography evokes feelings of genuine love & affection and strive to capture such moments throughout the day so that you both can remember all the little details. Our goal is to create images that tell the story of your wedding day in the best way possible.

Jose is such a pleasure to work with and his work is STUNNING! He has such a calm & positive energy, which is always appreciated on a wedding day. On top of that, he's highly skilled at both photo AND video. He's attentive to the details and is diligent about capturing the range of unique & personal touches. That being said, he's also fantastic at capturing those candid & special moments that we all hope to see. His technical skills are top-notch and his work is absolutely gorgeous. He really is a gem of a person, a photographer, and a videographer. Highly recommend!!!

My mom was a photographer. I have thousands of beautiful photos from my childhood. But what I remember most is how she made is feel as she photographed us. She helped us laugh, asked us to be still, and captured us in moments, not poses. That's my goal with photography. I want to give you beautiful memories. I don't want you to remember having your photo taken. I want you to remember the moment you looked into each other's eyes and realized the love you have for each other. When you're old and grey and can't remember anything else, I want you to be able to remember the love you had on your wedding day.

Mercy is such a magical photographer and wonderful human being. Her energy and enthusiasm for you is consistent whether it’s an engagement session running around Los Angeles or the end of your 15-hour wedding day. We’ve received our wedding photos and are so happy that we hired Mercy and Hasselblad Studios. Mercy was very easy and comfortable to work with (even with the myriad of ceremonies in my multicultural wedding). She navigated our big day so thoughtfully and professionally. She even brought an umbrella for a few rain photos, made sure I had my jacket when posing for photos in the cold, and rolled with the punches of a chaotic wedding (including intermittent rain, long costume changes, etc). She was also super patient and organized throughout the formal family photos and those requested by my family. I hired her because her wedding photos were so pure, genuine and honest. Mercy is a thoughtful photographer and likes to do fun, creative poses with light, which end up being breathtaking. I wanted someone who can capture the day just as I remember it (and the things that I didn’t realize were happening) - and she definitely accomplished that and so much more. She over-delivers high quality work at an affordable price with different packages that fits your needs. I highly recommend that you hire Mercy for your event!

Jasmine Ruiz LLC

Call me your candid emotion curator! I consider myself to be an illustrator of love stories, here to capture your wedding day naturally as it unfolds! My style is a blend of curated candid moments and directing you through poses that are natural and authentic to you and your relationship.

We feel so fortunate to have found Jasmine! We clicked with her personality immediately and felt like we could truly be ourselves, which is so important to capture in photos. We don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera, but she made it easier and was able to fool the world into thinking we might be photogenic. Jasmine took our engagement photos first, which helped us get to know each other, and we had a low-pressure opportunity to get the hang of the process before the big day. And when it came to the wedding day, Jasmine and her husband were so on top of it. The turnaround to get the full gallery was so quick and it was such a joy to relive the memories through the beautiful photos. They captured so many key moments perfectly, especially the candids. The wedding day was such a blur for us, so this photo gallery is precious. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Not only did we find a truly wonderful photographer, but we feel we found a friend.
